Do you use barbless hooks? I've just changed to barbless hooks because I noticed that barbed hooks can make a bit of a mess in the mouths of juvenile fish, especially if they are deep hooked. I've noticed that I do lose the occasional fish when I am playing them, but unhooking is an absolute doddle compared with barbed hooks
@adventurefishinguk2 жыл бұрын
I do use barbless mate yes especially with trebles. Something like a small single hooked jig for perch though and I'll probably leave it on 👍 Barbed trebles can be real trouble for a trouts mouth

I ordered a new fishing spinning reel because my old one broke, I ordered a Abu Garcia Revo 2 x 3000. Mainly for perch and zander, is that a good choice? And I also purchased braid line to put on it, 0,15mm braid to be precise, is that good? Or too thick?
@adventurefishinguk2 жыл бұрын
To be honest mate I'm a firm believer that little differences in gear and line like that don't make much difference so I'm sure it'll be fine! I've never fished for zander so I'm not sure on that, but for perch personally i's go a bit lighter. Doesn't really impact it that much if you use fluorocarbon leader!

@adamdobner19102 жыл бұрын
Silly question from a beginner, is there anything on your line aside from the spinner and a swivel on the fluorocarbon? I like wandering about with minimal kit and a travel rod but I never know whether I should be weighting the end of the line a bit to help with casting or something? Lure fishing is my favourite but I never really know how fast to pull spinners back in to keep them at the ideal height in the water. Cheers for the video 👌🏻
@drdwkelley2 жыл бұрын
for faster moving water I like to use a small splitshot right before the swivel. but if you're fishing something like a pond or lake, the depth at which are spinner will turn is determined by how long you let it sink
@adventurefishinguk2 жыл бұрын
I dont use any weights and sometimes not even a swivel for smaller fish. You can manage the depth of your spinner with retreive speed, and how high you hold your rod tip!
@adamdobner19102 жыл бұрын
