I used to live in Long Island 23 years ago. My family and I would go to Adventureland almost every year on my birthday. I now live in Texas and in 2 weeks I'll be taking my children for the first time❣️❣️ We're so excited, thank you for the video!

Glad to see that Adventureland has not only gotten though the tough last two pandemic years, but is adding a new attraction for 2022. I see the RES Rollerball as a great family friendly attraction that fits into this park very well. It doesn't hurt that the footprint of the ride is quite small for a roller coaster. No doubt the biggest non-coaster thrill ride is the Huss Frisbee. Only six of these rides remain operational in North America and I hope this one hangs in there for a few more years. It was nice to see the cameo in the video of the Mondial Surf Dance ride. I visited Adventureland back in the 1990's and managed to ride the Surf Dance along with some of the other long lost attractions (Hurricane and 1313 Cemetery Way for example). It's a little less than a four hour drive for me to get to Adventureland, LI. Hopefully I can tie in a visit with Coney Island and maybe Rye Playland later this year.

I hope Fireball goes well for them. I didn't find those Roller Balls too great in Europe, but they could be good family rides if marketed correctly.

I had so many birthday parties here, this brings back so many memories! I used to beg go so much that my older siblings got sick of going lol My mom has so many VHS tapes of us spending time in here 🥰 So happy to see it still going strong but the changes are something. Music Express will forever be a favorite of mine.

Many people don't know that two boroughs of NYC (Brooklyn and Queens) are technically part of Long Island, but most people don't go by that. Those two boroughs are absolutely on that island.

Its amazing the number of rides that can fit into a small parcel. Amusement piers along the Jersey shore are a good example. The old Bobs (Tornado) coaster at Coney Island was constructed mostly above concessions at street level. RIP. Thanks for posting.

I haven't been to Adventureland in like 9 years because we moved to Virginia. I love this amusement park so much and we always went here during the Summer. We're hoping to go this Summer as we're visiting New York for a family reunion. Hopefully it won't be TOO expensive since I know they upped the prices. I'm just so excited. :D

Native Long islander. I've ridden every ride including hurricane countless times growing up. The rescue boats used to be alligator carriages, and the red coaster used to be ladybug themed. which I never knew was changed. Now as an older enthusiast I'll just be grateful I have six flags nearby in new jersey. Turbulence was also a great addition!

I went to this park around when Fireball opened and was honestly blown away by it. While it is very obviously a family coaster, I found it a very fun ride and a nice complementary experience to my home park’s S&S Freespin. Adventureland should be proud of their rare little ride (and based on how well they dressed it up, they are)

I’m going to Adventureland this Friday (today’s Monday, July 26th 2021). I go every summer since I only live 15 minutes away. I’ve been going there since I was a kid and am now 17. Even though I’m a teenager I still love to go there and ride all the rides. I will definitely miss the crocodile ride tho since they changed it to boats lol.

Fun Fact: Adventureland Lobg Island is one of my main home park here in Long Island, since I live in Long Island too. And I remembered I first visit this park since my 6th Birthday in 2012! And I can’t wait that Adventureland Long Island is gonna celebrate it’s 60th Anniversary of Next Year! Which I can’t wait!

I've passed this park on the way to Coney Island before, I'm pretty sure I took a wrong turn and drove deep into the city (into long island), and I was always curious about it. The pirate is quite the site on the side of the road, and it looks so compact. (I think the roller coaster must be new since I've last been, it's been a while).

Went as a birthday group and used our designated group entrance. No they don't check bags. We didn't bring food, just water and some light snacks. Had a great experience with my 5 & 3 yo.

I think the more expensive price for kids makes sense, because kids are the ones that will ride all the roller coaster and get a lot of things, adults are most likely to not ride as much as kids.

I'm glad the park is getting a compact coaster since they're pressed on space. I just hope the park effectively markets and can convey this is a family ride. That seemed to be a flaw with some of the ones I saw in Europe.

Actually Adventure is actually a popular park cause its 30 or 20 min away from schools every yr aleast 2 or 3 schools go to Adventureland for a field trip and with all the kids they wanted to cash more so that’s why kids cost more

I was there with my fiancee. Although in 2019, they did allow me to ride it solo even though the official guidelines said I couldn't. Maybe because I was over a certain age? The flume and observation rides strictly enforced the 2 rider minimum though.

@@CanobieCoaster It may stem from age, yes. At Rye Playland a young child rode alone on the Old Mill ride, got spooked during the ride, tried to climb out, and drown. Ever since then no one can ride it alone, and it may be that Adventureland’s policies are a repercussion of that nearby tragedy.

One of the big differences with the dark ride at Adventureland is that it has a lap bar. If I remember correctly, Ye Old Mill had no restraints.

But Rye was criminally lax in a number of shocking ways, and I remember hearing that the safety measures implemented afterward affected other New York parks. For example, all segments of dark rides must now be visible to operators via closed-circuit video.

It's to bad they didn't have enough room to keep Hurricane and build Turbulence somewhere else without removing anything else. And I suppose I could say the same thing about the older dark ride that was replaced in 2018. After all the more rides the better.
