"you see a pair of goblins" is the only card from this set I will include in my 450 peasant cube - I share your excitement for that card

Same, I ran burn bright for some go wide aggro action and felt it was a bit underpowered so this upgrade is just perfect

@@strauchdieb3601 I ran Volatile claws for some very niche upsides for something like sling-gang lieutenant or slime foot but I was never really happy about that card.

I'm very excited for Krydle of Baldur's gate in my peasant environment. I think he will help open up a bit more signposting toward more aggressive/tempo based dimir decks that are supported but rarely drafted in the environment and i think his combination of abilities is quite versatile

It's a neat take on a lower-power Jon Finkel-like card!

Love your Petty Nobility cube, it’s been very inspiring for me. I’ve converted my higher tempo peasant cube into a low powered cube with budget rares and a lower tempo. What would you say are the most powerful cards in your environment? Or maybe dominant strategies?

Thanks for the videos. I recently found your channel and this is the channel I didn't know that I needed in my life. I'd like to make one comment, when you are talking about a card that is not on the screen (for example Crystal Shard in this video), I think it would be great for the viewers to actually see the card for the time that you are talking about it. In your older videos I had to pause and open Scryfall to see the card that you were talking about when I didn't know them. Thanks again for the great videos

Thanks for the kind words! I totally get the frustration of wanting to see cards being discussed. There have been times I've been listening to an mtg podcast while driving, and I'm trying to keep in mind a growing list of cards I want to Scryfall later. (Shameless plug: I have a podcast as well called Chateau Cube!) With these set reviews, I decided to err on the side of being more agile in order to push out the reviews more quickly. My more typical videos, such as the recent Birthing Pod archetype primer, represent between two weeks and a month of work. Each of these AFR reviews took me a little less than a week to produce. Do you have thoughts about the ideal balance between the extremes? Strike while the set is hot or spend longer developing more involved and potentially scripted video?
@frankywise9113 жыл бұрын
@@CulticCube Hi, for your question about the balance between the extreme, I personally like both. The quick videos when a set is release is important to catch the hype of the set. Those video in my opinion don't need to be polished. More scripted and polished videos are also great like you did on Birthing Pod. One style of video that I think could be interesting is a retrospective on a set after playing with the cards for a few months/drafts. Kind of looking back at your initial quick feeling and providing game insight (for example you thought this new card would be great but no one ever drafted it). Ultimately though this is your channel your rules. As much as I'm sure you want us the audience to like your videos, you need to love making them. As for my initial comment it's just that quite often when I watch the KZbin videos my hands are busy. So I really like to be able to see the card being talked about since I can't always go check scryfall. Thanks

I agree with a lot of your picks, but I'm hesitant to include any classes or modal spells from this set in my cube for flavor reasons. Those spells are just dripping with flavor for a DnD set to me, and I don't particularly want a handful of those in my Magic-flavored cube.
@CulticCube3 жыл бұрын
I totally get that. Die rolling is a deal-breaker for me. I can well understand flavor conflicts being a deal-breaker for someone else.

Would you change your opinion on deadly dispute after a year or do you still find village rites to be stronger?

Oh good call, thanks! I was floundering a bit as "citizen" sounded vaguely familiar, but I was racking my brain trying to think of an example of one and was drawing a blank. I should have done some scryfall diving!
