I have a cube of similar power to Eleusis. I am so happy I get to get a breather from having to buy a lot of cards from a set... I literally just bought all the KHM, STR, and MH2 cards my cube wants and my brain and wallet are shot.

thanks John! I really enjoyed the casual tone of this video. I'm excited to see what you are testing in your lower powered environment. I'm probably most excited for the lich, but I'll be interested to see how easily it can be cast.

Great videos. As a cube designer it would be super interesting to hear about the cards you are cutting too, not just about the cards you are putting in. Cutting seems to be harder than finding new cards to put in...

I can understand people not liking the mechanics. I certainly don't want to add anymore luck based shenanigans when Magic is already a lot more luck based than other card games. But from a thematic standpoint this is the most interesting set I've seen in years. I don't think many of these cards will fit into my own cube, but I certainly want to make a block specific cube just to use them if possible. Hopefully they continue and release future sets to complement what's here already.

I hear you on the dice rolling. I also run Sword of D&D, but my playgroup likes rolling a d20 for exactly one card so we run it w/out shapieing out that one line. I'm not adding any of the venture or dice cards from this set. Both mechanics look fun for other formats, though!

Glad you still talked about Ebondeath, Dracolich. I understand that the Dragon coming in tapped might make it too bad for your powered environment. I am glad that it does though, because now I get to test it in my cube :D (it would be way too overpowered otherwise). Bring it on Ebondeath! Another card I am looking forward to testing is Ranger Class. Perhaps you will talk about that card in your next video? As always, thanks for the great content :)

Great stuff John! I agree on your assessment of Hand of Vecna. However, I do like EYE of Vecna for cube!

Your disdain for dice rolling is entertaining.

Love your work. This set is quite poor for established higher power small cubes. I'm not sure if a single card will make my 360
@CulticCube3 жыл бұрын
I understand that sentiment! portable hole and power word kill are the only two I'd be eyeing at 360.
@januszo.21803 жыл бұрын
I ran the numbers for power word kill. You are absolutely right. My 360 cube. Doom blade-30 cards. Power word-13. Go for the throat 13 ultimate price 12. Bye bye Doom blade

Another sick doom blade was previewed today in Innistrad 3: Infernal Grasp. Instant. 1B. Destroy target creature; you lose 2 life.

Bringing dice into Black-Bordered games is not the worst idea out there, but it’s certainly stressing

Do you think is worth buying the display for forgotten realms to build a cube? It seems so cool, but I cannod decide
@TheTobster963 жыл бұрын
If you want to build a cube, the biggest hurdle is to simply start. So if you like the AFR-draft format or the cards, just buy a display and draft it. After that you can start throwing cards together and see what you like. If you want to build a cube with only/mostly AFR cards, I think buying a box is the way to go. If you want to go the singelton route, your probably better of just buying singels.

I share a dislike for dice rolling; but less so than coin flipping.

I'm with you! Don't even get me started on coin flips. It's 2021; isn't everything crypto now?
