My dad once told me when you're walking through Disneyland is to make sure you look up & far, you'll see different things that you never notice before. Since working at Disney for 20 years on the 3rd shift, i'm unable to see much in the dark but once the sunrise comes up i like to stroll through the park with my cup of coffee & just look around you'll be surprise what you see that you haven't seen before.

When people say the magic is dead or dying at Disneyland I point to you Brickey. I tell them to watch some of your videos before the visit. I tell them to remember that feeling they felt the first time they walked through the tunnel to reveal Main Street. Between those two things they always come back with a new love and appreciation for this magical place. Keep the dream alive Brickey!

You have discovered the secret of Disneyland. If you just keep riding the same rides every time you go to the park, you'll eventually get bored, and that ruins it for you. You just have to slow down and take it all in, every little corner and feature of it, as you have found. Keep it up Brickey!

The magic of Disneyland isn’t in the rides, or the big WOW! stuff. It lies in those quiet little corners all over the park. If you take the time to experience them, Disneyland becomes an entirely new park for you. I love getting a mint julep and sitting near the fountain by the Haunted Mansion and just watching the people, the motion of the land and getting that New Orleans Square vibe.

while its always fun to go to disneyland and crush rides, disneyland has more to it than that....and in your hurry to go crush rides, a lot gets missed......you go under the bridge, and thru town square, and you miss seeing mr lincoln, and seeing tillie, and watching the cartoons that started it all....and going to the tiki room....sometimes,you need to forget crushing the rides, and see the attractions less traveled....and just walk thru ,and check the details they put there...from every angle.spend 2hrs of sitting on a bench on tom sawyer island watching the boats go by..and people having fun.this is what makes disneyland special.

If you look at the side of the Opera house right by the parade exit there is a sign on the door that says Employes only not cast Members Only. Also, in the Opera House there is a peanut cart that was there on opening day at Walt saw all the peanut shells and got rid of the carts the next day. I learned these facts from Chris Provest. Thanks for another fun video.

I remember appreciating that same main street facade while I worked in the park. Just behind Plaza Inn, was a lunch spot for castmembers. I used to walk the back ally and look up at that facade; amazed how detailed it was and how it stuck out from the top half of the building. The bottom half had nothing going on at all. 😅

Love this man! Side Questing is definitely a ultimate goal for me some day when I can frequent the parks on a regular basis. And the neon light up at sunset is another one I'll be looking to experience. Main Street is the happiest part of the park to see when you first enter and the saddest part of the park to see when your day has come to an end. I miss my cast member days in WDW when I would linger in the park after hours to take in the atmosphere of an empty park and observe the architectural magnificence Imagineering has done. Also them leaving the music on all night shows just how much they care to keep the park alive as if it too were a living breathing thing. I would have no complaints about working overnight at a Disney Park! I miss the feeling!

I'm a fairly new subscriber and love your channel. Like you, I'm a long-time Disneyland fan. But did I hear you correctly? Did you say the Tomorrowland subs give you nightmares? If you don't mind my asking, how so? My only gripe about the "Finding Nemo" subs is the same as my gripe about "Star Tours": it's not themed appropriately for the land. Neither attraction has anything to do with the future. "Finding Nemo" is a cartoon better suited for ToonTown, Fantasyland or the Pixar Pier areas. And "Star Tours" takes place "a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away." Since Star Wars Land is short on rides, I think "Star Tours" would be placed better there. Also, I wish Disney would remove the post-apocalyptic "Star Wars" overlay from the futuristic-looking Tomorrowland Terrance. Most people still view the future in Atomic style. The style of "Star Wars" is war-torn wasteland. That's not to say I don't enjoy (most of) the "Star Wars" series. I do. Just put it where it belongs. When it comes to Earth, I'm not a fan of war-at all. I hope our planet's future is far more bright. Walt Disney would agree. I don't know exactly when post-Walt Disney Parks stopped adhering to land theme. It was not a good choice. Poor Tomorrowland needs real attention. I'd love for it to return to and even surpass its original glory.

Just wondering. We have spent the 15 minutes on the train station. Love it. Is there a spot DCA that offers the “perspective “?

Your topic is most interesting and not known by most. You caught my interest sure as I like to study Main Street most of my Disney life of 50 years. Before Center Street East was made it was blocked off. Walt spoke about expanding Main Street to add another street parallel to Main Street on the East side. International Street was the name given. You are most right about that red brick wall on Center Street East but that was not the first place the wall had been constructed. That red brick wall was on Main Street proper for quite some time then moved to its current location when Center Street East was constructed. As you said the red brick wall is another show all in itself. The second street as we know was not constructed mainly due to budget restraints at the time. The Matterhorn was about to open in 1959 and that cost a bundle at the time. Then Center Street East was made as that is how much money was left for Main Street at the time. Now if we look at Tokyo Disneyland and I'm sure you have been there. There is a second street running parallel to Main Street proper to give Walt that second road. It is very interesting to see this street in Tokyo Disneyland because we get the "feel" of that second street that Walt so wanted at his Disneyland so many years before. This is a testament to just how Walt thought so far in advance and how his thoughts still are in place and working today. That might be about 5 shows worth of content and I have studied that area very thoroughly. Go J. Pike Go. On a very side note - take a walk into New Orleans Square as this is walking in Walt's exact footsteps. You can get 10 shows of content out of New Orleans Square sure. There is a reason why no other Disney Park has a New Orleans Square. When Walt passed New Orleans Square could not be duplicated.

Brickey, when you were showing is those buildings from the upper deck of the Omnibus and explaining that it was the Main Street side of the Star Tours building, I looked a little higher in the picture and it looked also like you could see the very top part of Space Mountain. Please correct me if I am wrong. I also have a list of things I would like to take the time to do in the park that has nothing to do with riding any of the attractions. Some people would probably read the list and shake their heads wondering why I would want to do those things.
