I just made this today and holy cow it was good! I used at 3.5 lb corned beef and it was basically done in the first hour. So I opened the foil and let it go for another 20 minutes to brown it. Absolutely amazing! Thank you for sharing!

I think you've got a winner! I just got my air fryer this week and still testing out things with it, but the thing I'd miss about this method is the carrots, onions, potatoes and cabbage simmered in with the beef for the last 30 minutes or so....that's how I traditionally make it so all the veggies have the corned beef flavor, I guess I could always steam them in beef broth, but I don't think it would be the same, maybe it would, IDK, but i sure think your air fryer method is surely worth trying!!

I've made this recipe myself and it turned out great. The one thing that I did that you didn't do was to save some of the marinade so that each time I opened the foil I had more to use instead using all of it on the first round of cooking. I think it makes the mustard flavor pop a bit more and just like you did I discarded the flavoring packet that came with the corned beef.

Several other online videos make the point that Pampered Chef discourages the use of foil. They are being over cautious in case a piece of foil gets in the fan to the heater.

Generally when I'm trying something new I look at a mix of recipes and then go with my gut. I find that a vast majority of recipes overcook (so too much time) so I tend to read a whole bunch of different ones, then take what I know from my own experiences and split the difference. If ever I use someone's recipe, I do link them up though (even when I make my own changes--then I link both).

Oh noooo! I mean the juices do stay in the foil... so at least there is a little? But I don't think there is a way to air fry it and get the same juices as the slow cooker.

Well, I did not know you can’t use foil in the machine. I guess I need to read more instructions. Now I’m wondering why... Off to do some research! Hmmm!
@AdventuresinEverydayCooking
@AdventuresinEverydayCooking 3 жыл бұрын
Ohh! Research says they don’t want you to COVER the trays with foil because it restricts the air flow and may blow up your machine. So I think using it like this is okay. At least, that is my thought. The main concern is the air flow.

Hey not hating by any means but putting foil in your pampered chef air fryer can void your warranty 😀
@AdventuresinEverydayCooking
@AdventuresinEverydayCooking 3 жыл бұрын
Technically, yes. BUT, I've done some research on this, and the only reason they don't want you to use foil is because people were putting it on the racks themselves (and that impedes air flow and causes machine to overheat). But as long as there is plenty of air flow around the masses say it's okay :)
