If you take the boat back home base, you can always tow back and restart at your current point. It will still count, at least in my view. Another Option: Hopefully, there is a local marine nearby that you can reach by outboard. Someone watching with a local sailing club membership can set you up in their maintenance yard.

Only Catalina 25 I've ever even seen with an inboard. You could always throw a kicker outboard on it. Most of them have that anyhow. Probably a lot easier to work on and get parts for.

not many came with a inboard. Mine also has a steering pedestal. Very rare setup.

Ah, bummer. I was hoping to see you sail this thing in the gulf! Didn't you bring a backup outboard? I sail my C25 SK with an 8hp outboard out of south Texas. Rarely ever need motor outside of the channel.
