2:10 Funny you should say that, there's actually a saying in Finland "Ei ole huonoa säätä, on vain vääriä vaatteita" basically "There's no bad weather, just bad/wrong clothes" My dad would always say that to me as a kid if I said it was too cold to go to school 😂 He'd say "if it's too cold just put on another layer until it isn't" LOL

Touhu is a somewhat relaxed/whimsical way to refer to doing something, and -nen is a surname suffix or a suffix for something small (book/booklet = kirja/kirjanen). There's probably some related reason for why it's a surname suffix but I don't know the connection.

We did a bit of both! We got the IHG hotel card and that really helped us in Germany and Helsinki. We got almost 14 nights of free hotels with the welcome points from that card! But for the northern Finland stuff, you just have to bite the bullet. We looked for cheaper airbnbs in Rovaniemi, stayed away from expensive tours, and didn’t stay at the really expensive resorts many people do. In the next video we stay at a unique accommodation to get a similar experience to those nicer resorts but MUCH cheaper! We didn’t find the food that be thaaaat expensive. We definitely drained our trip find for the trip but it’s sooo worth it!

Thank you! Questions, how are the Kosta solar panel working out? I want 200 watt panels. And how cool does the Dometic 2000 RTX AC get the van in 85-90 degree heat?
@AdventuresofAplusK9 ай бұрын
The solar panels are great! They seem to be better than the Renogy ones we had before. And they fit perfect on the roof. The AC is great also. It blows really cold. Our only problem is it doesn't stay cold. We think it may be our insulation job, but not sure. 15 minutes after we turn off the AC it gets warm again. On a nice sunny day when the sun is high the eco mode on the AC draws about as much as is coming in so that is nice. We didn't have a ton of sun last year so we couldn't run the AC as often as we'd like, but it was nice to have! We recommend the solar panels and the AC!

Weird reindeer factoid, but the Finnish reindeer (and by extension, all the reindeer of Europe and Asia) and the North American reindeer - otherwise known as caribou - are both the same species (Latin name Rangifer tarandus), just on different continents. And, perhaps not surprisingly, they fill a similar role on both continents for the indigenous peoples living in the Arctic zones. The Sami of Northern Europe, the Nenets and the Chukchi and other peoples of the Siberian Arctic, and the Inuits, Yupiks and Kalaallit of Canada and Greenland traditionally all relied largely or near-exclusively on reindeer/caribou for meat, fat and furs.
