I watched all your videos on a fire stick on a TV where I couldn't comment, but I was looking for me when you were at the free dock in Portsmouth because I ride my bike right around there about every morning. Living my boat in Portsmouth. Glad you got that thing off of the dry, I could hear it in your voice when you said oh my God when you came home and it was up on land it's like your baby. I get it

I followed your videos from Dismal Swamp to Cape Coral, and from Hurricane Ian til your final shakedown after getting Happy Ours back in shape. Great job. Really enloyed the segments from Beaufort, SC to Daytona since I traveled those waters, as owner/capt of a 72' shrimp trawler, in the 70's and 80's. I also worked the Gulf from Key West to Gulfport, MS and stopped in Ft. Myers one trip to pack out and get ice and fuel. In 1998 my wife and I stayed a week at a friend's vacation house on a canal in Cape Coral. We explored the whole area with our 17' boat. Thanks for sharing and letting an old man revisit so much through your videos. Fair Winds!

And the engines feels so much stronger. I really enjoy watching your videos and learning different things. Thank you so much!!!

Just came across your channel. I'm in SW Cape Coral, but only on and off. Glad to see you're back in action. My boat survived with some paint scrapes and a 2' gouge in the gelcoat. 2 of the straps holding it to the dock snapped, the force on the other 3 bent the lag eyes and eventually pulled them out of the pilings, but the boat stayed in position! I'll keep an eye out for you when I'm next there.

What's in that thing, Small blocks? I am running a 370 Carver voyager at 20k weight 40.5 length and 13.3 beam 9 foot Highfeild with a 15hp on the back and close to 300 gallons of gas. 454xls crusaders 3300 rpms and 23 mph. 3500 rpms at 25 mph. Usually running tabs all the way down, Up a little if there a lighter load. I can drop down to 17 mph, but thats about it before it drops out of plan. Usually have no trouble getting it on plane. Probably only have to hit 3000 to 3300 to get it up. Props 23 inch diameter and 27 pitch, four blades. Seems like very little slip. .6 mile's to gallon, burn a 100 gallons out and hits about .7 at 3300 rpm. I think the flow scanns are at 16 gallons an hour each. Glade to see your a survivor of the storm.

i have quite of bit experience with the 341 as well as the 350 mags, i would highly suggest doing a compression test on all cylinders as i have had to replace many cylinder heads due to burnt exhaust valves and things similar. im all checks out the distributor caps are bad about getting moisture inside the plastic molding and making them short out, wish ya the best captain! cheers 🍻

Check the intake manifold on the generator, it can still have water in it Seen it many times first wavy day with it running will result in engine failure...
@EnterpriseRacing2 жыл бұрын
Congratulations! I am as surprised as you were that things worked so well. As for the port engine, connect up a pressure gauge to the port fuel line to see if any air is getting into the system. May also be something very small clogging the line or injector somewhere. I'm not as familiar with gas engines. At least now you can explore and enjoy southwest Florida. Give a shout if you ever get up to the Venice or Sarasota area (we had very little damage up this way and everything is open.)

Glad to see Happy Ours is up and running well! I have some ideas about the port engine.... 1) Are you sure the tachometers are accurate? When you started both engines it seemed they were idling at different speeds. 2) Have you confirmed that the throttle on the port engine is adjusted properly and actually giving you a wide open "butterfly" on the engine? Not sure if the throttles are mechanical or "fly by wire" but either way you should be able to adjust throttle location.
@AdventuresofHappyOurs2 жыл бұрын
I think the tachs are accurate. I have analog and digital. That’s a good point. I will check for fully opening throttle body valves. I also have to check the idle air controller.

Well for happy hours wide open throttle on port engine and you did change fuel filter I listened about, take look at air filter try K&N air filter they are good for drag racing engines or normal engines with super air flow, and take look at throttle linkages you may have port side not all way open, you can do this at dock with air filter off engine but "Do Not Start it with wide open throttle. Work throttle linkages at helm and have someone at engine too watch throttle move. Thanks Donald

Maybe it's the current or the wind but that's a sled. I had a 36' sport fish with twin diesels that would cruise 21 knots @ 2k rpm. That boat should easily do 25 knots + if you're running 4k. Check and see what the drag is. Not trying to be negative so don't take it as that, just seeing a real issue.
