Man !!!! I remember Doug working with a towing company, then working beside Jared, then qualifying as a diver. Step-by-step he has been choosing a new direction for his life and following a new passion. IT’s been an amazing journey to observe. He is making a profound difference with his dedication to this direction in his life. And what an amazing example he is setting for his daughters... they are seeing their father make powerful choices for humanity, and that is the role-modeling that will direct them in their lives. Bravo, Doug !!! Such respect for you. . . . .

I used to live literally directly across the street from the Amabile family, and vividly remember when James came up missing and was obviously heart broken for the family. Fast forward and NEVER would I ever think in my wildest dreams that my literal real-life heroes AWP as well as Chaos Divers would not locate him, but bring him home. You are all forever in my prayers and there is no words to express my gratitude and sincere thank you for what you as well as like I said , Chaos Divers, Exploring with Nug, Depths of History, Adam Brown Adventures, and the many other that you have inspired to get out there and just look (including myself). You are all ALWAYS in my prayers and I again could never thank you enough for helping me giving me a purpose and getting me sober after a 20+ long opiate addiction. Love you guys and forced for all of your backs and you are ALL forever in my prayers. I sincerely appreciate you and humbly thank you again. I've worked in a land survey office, they have this thing they call a no misclose. Basically it means you can't have any missing angles in a drawing, no possibility of any missing information on land surveys. I was also a boating person for much of my life. It makes me angry to think that the same standards of land surveys are not applied to new developments next to or in the water. So much unnecessary suffering. Hopefully these situations lead to real changes in regulations for all countries. Then his life will have made a real difference. RIP Jimmy. 🙏

I was just looking at a case in Florida yesterday, Howard Vaughn Gratteau from 1986... Similar circumstances to this, and there's two large retention ponds on the route he would've taken. Big sections of those ponds have been buried and built over since that time, makes me wonder if he could be under all that.

@@AnitaSouthall Do you have any idea what it would have cost even 15 years ago to try to survey the bottom of a river with 1-foot visibility? I think you folks see the technology now and think off-the-shelf consumer sonar was always like it is today. I am a fan of this channel, but people are starting to get very unreasonable about the lengths the rest of society should go to, and the incredible costs private individuals should have to incur, to account for something so freakishly rare. A more reasonable response is that a PRIVATE movement should begin, supported by public reward incentives. Motivate boaters who already have these imaging tools to survey coastal and riparian areas as they move through our waters. These would eventually identify these one-in-a-million situations long before they could happen going forward. If local governments offered $100-1,000 rewards for reporting the locations of strange underwater structures and items, this might never happen again. Going a step further, someone could follow in Google Earth's footsteps and develop a surveying system/ protocol to record GPS signals and underwater sonar data**. The end result would be huge, always "live" or current surveys of these areas. They could be compiled at minimal real additional cost after the protocol is developed. ** Get the effort started and Google would probably buy it off you ;-)

@@hardcorehunter9438 If you, a normal person, find a car underwater, are you just going to go "oh hey" and then not report it? Not even that, but then *drill through the car* without a thought? I don't know how in the world they didn't notice something was unusual when they drilled the pylon in there. If they'd seen it was a car (which they certainly could have) it's just plain negligence to not report that to the police. My first thought at finding a car underwater would be wondering if there's a body in it. That's common sense.

@@emily-rainbeetle7856 how many times on this show has local law enforcement known damn well there were vehicles, even stating “oh, we have tons of vehicles in that river/lake”, and done nothing. How do we know they didn’t report it, maybe they did. Many of these local LEA don’t have the budgets or man power or DGAF enough to pull every auto, hence why AWP is doing what they do. So, if the LE aren’t doing it, how is it a construction companies responsibility to do anything more than note it on their report and tell the sheriff? I guess what I’m trying to convey, the frustration is pointed at the wrong people… it's not the fault of a construction crew, the LEA that can't/won't do more with autos under the water & missing people cases blows my mind. Pulling them is expensive, sure, but sending out a dive team to at least identify the autos and check them off would be something.

Having type 1 diabetes and hearing Doug explain a low blood sugar and the state of being drunk and confused was just spot on. Sometimes I'll wake up late for work and have that adrenaline rush to get to work that I won't even check my sugars. Luckily, I have a Dexcom that gives me alarms on my blood sugars and tracks them, which has changed how diabetics live 19 years later. It's incredible how tech changes. But waking up with a low and not even noticing and then driving is the scariest feeling because of that state of confusion. It's scary how type 1 diabetes can change how some people live life.

I always think about their spirits while watching these videos aswell. I actually flat lined in my early twenties & got to see, feel & survive death so I know for a fact that theres an after life & from what I experienced, the second you die your spirit leaves the body & you feel absolutely nothing but peace & lightness, every single emotion or feeling you felt in your life, in your body, remains with you body... but at the same time you also remain cognitive, like you can still see, hear & sense what's happening in the physical world. So I personally think in regards to the victims in these videos, I believe their spirits would probably sustain some level of connection to their physical bodies until they are officially laid to rest. But one thing I know for sure is that they are no longer suffering in any way, shape or form & that's the most important thing.🤗💯

Doug, you handle these cases so professionally, I am amazed. From the moment you said SUV, everybody (even not divers) just wanted to jump into the water, they were so excited. Kudos to you, you took the time to go to the family, explain everything that did and will happen, you explained everything to us and your team, even if you were over excited too. I could see your mind and heart racing, but you kept it together to make it as easier and possibly smoother for the family. Excellent job. well I mean, when there's no clear accident that took place & no damage along the edge of the road going toward the water it wouldn't really be an obvious option to arrive at, remember everything seems obvious in hindsight but when you're coming into it completely blind & all you have is a man that just disappeared off the earth theres a million things that COULD have happened, & you have to think to that the fact he left without his phone& wallet & other items is also somewhat suspicious in that it could easily mislead police into seeing it as more of a foul play scenario, but in general there's just no reason this would seem anymore likely than any other possibility when youre truly coming into it blind like that it likely might not even be on the radar at all when there was no clear signs of an accident taking place

Omgosh...tears 😭 seriously...the way Jimmy's brother reacted, and the way he acted like a brother to AWP divers, assisting them out of the water. The looks on everyone's faces...the shock, disbelief, and even frustration that something like this could happen, that he was pegged in place by the pylon. I'm so so sorry 😔😐🤦🏻‍♀️ everyone is just SO shocked at the incompetence of those who placed the pylon. Speechless 😶 this man should have been found sooner, had they only done a sonar of the bed before placing the pylons to clear any possible debris or anything that could interfere. It really is just unbelievable that they did this, and I understand they may have had a work schedule, deadline, budget, etc. But THIS...THIS HERE IS UNETHICAL. They did not even stop to see if someone was in there! So they would have had to stop and call in law enforcement. Shame on them! I hope someone is NEVER so careless about something regarding their property or family members. 😢😐 This is just so very frustrating!

If the bed is rock of any kind, the company driving pylons may not have noticed. Going thru the car wouldn't have caused a noticeable difference bc those machines can cut like a hot knife in butter. As one myself and a registered nurse that’s not a medical fact . If so he wouldn’t have been hypo according to your theory . Another medical fact is a large majority of diabetics don’t feel any symptoms of hyper or hypo. Fortunately I do and a safe reading I’m symptomatic as normal as 110 and about 200 if hyperglycemic . In my line of work I’d be dead if adrenaline caused blood sugar spikes . Physical activity lowers blood sugar . Most adrenaline rush one is physical active . Infections fevers can significantly raise blood sugar but not adrenaline. Adrenaline is correlated with cortisol from the adrenal glands not insulin .

@@WardenWolf yes they did read glucose even then . It’s hard to explain correctly here however the pumps deliver a tiny amount of insulin based on needs throughout the day . They won’t over deliver the amounts aren’t large amounts aka (bolus) Larger amounts needed we self administer either through the pump or a regular insulin pen . Before meals or when readings are high . It won’t self deliver if not needed . Not eating is a huge risk for dropping low very quickly .

I used to live on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland and would watch piers being built. I seem to remember that they would check out the area underwater to make sure that nothing would keep the pylon from being able to be pounded into the floor of the bay.
