Missing for 38 years, we FOUND HER IN JUST 6 HOURS, together with Sunshine State Sonar... Maureen Sherman, a 47-year-old mother, missing since May 1, 1985, was finally brought home on January 5, 2024. Join us in this docuseries to witness the efforts it took to solve this cold case.
Within just six hours of launching our search in a Miami canal, mere steps from Maureen's last known whereabouts, we uncovered the final piece of this heart-wrenching puzzle.
📌 Sunshine State Sonar on KZbin... ➤ / @sunshinestatesonar
📌 Sunshine State Sonar on Facebook... ➤ / sunshinestatesonar
This episode unravels the intricate details of our search, taking you on a journey through time and technology as we utilize advanced sonar equipment to probe the murky depths of the canal. As we meticulously scanned the area, the waters began to tell a story, revealing the presence of 24 vehicles hidden beneath the surface. It was here, in a haunting 400-yard stretch, that we found Maureen's red 1983 Plymouth Reliant station wagon, submerged and silent, marking the end of a search that spanned nearly four decades.
The discovery of Maureen's car was not just a testament to the dedication of our team and Sunshine State Sonar but also a pivotal moment that prompted immediate action. Understanding the gravity of our find, we swiftly contacted the local authorities, bringing in a seasoned detective who had been shadowing the case. The police dive team was mobilized, diving into the depths to confirm our findings. Their efforts culminated in a poignant moment when they confirmed Maureen's remains were indeed inside the vehicle, just as she had eerily predicted before her disappearance.
Throughout the day, as we navigated the challenges of sonar searching, diving, and coordinating with law enforcement, our resolve never wavered. The emotional weight of the search was palpable, with each team member feeling a deep connection to Maureen's story. We were driven by a shared mission to bring closure to her family, to answer the questions that had lingered for far too long, and to honor her memory by bringing her story to light.
This episode is more than a recounting of a successful search; it's a narrative of collaboration, innovation, and the human spirit's capacity to seek out the truth against all odds. It highlights the importance of working hand in hand with local authorities and leveraging technology to uncover the secrets that lie hidden beneath the surface.
As you join us on this remarkable journey, you become part of a larger story of hope, healing, and the quest for closure. This discovery is a beacon for families still waiting for answers, a reminder that no case is too cold, and no mystery is beyond solving.
Subscribe to follow our adventures as we continue to bridge the gap between the past and the present, bringing solace to families and honoring the memories of those we find.
Together with Sunshine State Sonar, we are more than searchers; we are storytellers, guardians of the forgotten, and seekers of truth. Every search, every discovery, is a step towards understanding, a tribute to those we seek, and a promise to never forget. Join us as we illuminate the dark corners of the unknown, one story at a time, in our relentless pursuit of closure and peace.

So many people commenting about how long it took and why didn’t they do it sooner. Think of all the cold cases that may have not been uploaded to computers, take into account when this detailed sonar was created and then became available. Then the sorting and someone to rediscover info to even look back into it. I bet the numbers are mind boggling

@@JenAmazed42you are choosing to look at it from a weird angle. Yes, it’s sad but it’s also joyous. I’m sorry but if you believe their celebration is anything other than pure adrenaline, and joy and tons of other emotions is weird then that’s a you problem. And I mean that in the nicest way. You can’t tell people how to process their own emotions. Jared has been doing this for awhile, while one of those men said it was their first day I do believe. I thought it was Incredible to see the energy shift, it’s real. You want people to put on a front? This is real life, real people, real emotions. In my opinion the only thing I noticed is how smooth Jared ran while the others seemed to get confused, tag a vehicle more than once, and just be discombobulated. Once again it’s the difference between years of experience vs doing it a few years or just starting out.

The good news is that the majority, or even all of the other cars have probably been dumped there with nobody in them (either insurance fraud or dumping after theft or some other unknowable reason). The number of cars very close to the side of the canal and on top of each other also suggests this. They're dumped at consistently car accessible places at low speed. i.e. the car is simply pushed into the canal.

I didnt like that gobby diver. He acted like it was a game and not treating all the cars/situation with respect due. Any of them could be a grave site. I get he needs a new team to carry on but you can tell these are absolute rookies at this side of diving. Its not funny and that loudmouth needs to calm down, speak normally and remember that discretion and respect is number 1. Hard to watch this one as totally lacked the compassion all the old videos had

Jared and his team show so much respect. The behavior of the other team made me sick. I get they are happy they found her, but she has loved ones who shouldn't see such disrespect.

I'm appreciative of the work you do, bringing missing people back to their families. Having two teams was a bit confusing to watch but dang there were a lot of cars in that canal! You all did a lot of work to identify them. Good job!

I was scared there was going to be gators in the water. Man there were so many cars!! I know the other cars weren't what they were looking for but i can't help but wonder about those too!! Great teamwork on this case. Jared I hope you're taking care of yourself. Noticed you was coughing a lot in this video and a bit under the weather. It's ok to rest and take care of yourself as well

They did say they were going to give all the plate numbers to the police to make sure they didn’t miss any other unsolved cases.

Finding people today because technology of this type has come so far must be a relief for these families after waiting all this time.

You can definitely tell the professionalism between AWP and the lack of the other team.
