Also, all those years urban camping came in handy for you in figuring out the sleeping arrangements next to the beach. Thanks for taking us along. It felt like I was right there.

I'm a resident in Oregon. One thing I appreciate is the fact that the beaches are designated as public land, not broken up by private ownership. On much of the beach area, camping is allowed, and on quite a few stretches, driving is also allowed - unless otherwise sign-posted (though getting stuck in soft sand at the access point is possible). Also, the rules of the road have made it legal to stop and stay overnight anywhere you can pull completely off the traveled roadway lane - again, where not sign-posted. (Some coastal towns and state parks, such as Fort Stevens at the north end of the state do post as "day use only", though.)

Our family used to visit Cannon Beach for several summers back in the 50's and 60's. We would rent a cabin on the beach which are no longer there. You could drive on the beach then too. Not as crowded back then as it is now. That's Haystack Rock the local landmark and seashell and starship collecting. Which is also illegal now. I didn't realize how lucky I was to visit such a beautiful place. Thanks for the memories.

Very nice drone views Brian. And I LOVE the mellow guitar music that you put with it. I've seen several other videos by those that travel and they always put some kind of upbeat music that just doesn't fit the scenery. that big rock is Haystack Rock, I was a volunteer for the US Fish and Wildlife last summer, spent 4 days a week at low tide for 4 months, got a full hook up rv site at Ecola Park north of Cannon beach. I so miss that beach and I'll probably try to go back next summer. I talked to people from all over the world telling them about the rock, the birds that are nesting and the marine gardens. It is part of the Oregon Island National Wildlife Refuge. Right now there are 2-4 thousand birds nesting on it with babies... Also you can't fly your drone within 1000 feet of it. Also the rock was in the movie Goonies... a lot of people come out to see it just cuz of the movie. Thanks for your video... memories!!!!!

I don't know Brian, but I think you might really enjoy the beaches around the Puget Sound in Washington too, it's rougher, more wild terrain. I'll be curious to see what you make of them. Myself, I love the Oregon coast. Probably, in part, because it's so different from "my" Puget Sound. You know, that grass is greener thing, lol. Oh, and that deep beautiful sound of the waves coming in on the Oregon Coast... heaven! It will be my first trip when my van is done! Thanks for taking us along : ) Sending love💞 and light✨.

Your videos are very inspiring. I especially like how you outline your day on the boring but interesting items (I am going to park in the public parking lot, go to the restroom, and start my day (para phrased I think). Do you meet many people or do you prefer to be alone?

I wanted to see if I had the moxie to van camp. So I went to the local park, which is down in a valley and heavily forested. There was a low lying fog and it was creepy. I kept thinking about the White Walkers from GOT's similar albino creeps from a cave movie. It was creeping me out. Anyhoo...so many questions! I love the drone shots and wonder how you deal with restrictions. The drone REALLY shows the topography and what (who!?) Is around you. Also, I love your little cooking shows! It's very homey.
