Foot pursuits are one of the most dangerous things in my opinion. As a police officer, u never know if the suspect will shoot you once he turns into a corner or pull a knife and stab you when you less expect it😢

They can definitely get really dangerous, really fast. Don’t cut corners, know your location, stay in shape, and keep training.

Thank you so much for this! It was very helpful and gave some very good insight and thought to it! I’m still looking at getting into law enforcement too so I just got to get back into working out mostly but thank you again!

Love the video man . Can I ask y’all something so I’m 23 years old , I have got two misdemeanor charges, but one is including a misdemeanor carrying a concealed deadly weapons charge. Which is eligible for expungement now . I have always wanted to be a police officer I honestly fell down the wrong path for a while but that’s a different story anyways I’m back on my feet and want to be a cop still it’s what I believe I was born to do but I’m wondering if I’m even able to become one with my prior charges it’s really discouraging and I hope I can still do what I was born to do you know . So that’s my question. Btw I’m in Louisville Kentucky so I understand if you don’t know the full technical answer. But just wanted to ask you cause I love your videos .

Thanks for commenting and I'm grateful you like the videos. I am going to give credit where credit is due and I think that maybe, Ken Roybal host of The Police Applicant Podcast would be a good resource regarding questions of background and application process. But keep watching my channel too. HAHA! Take care and I wish you the best.

I’d say still go for it! Especially if your charges are eligible for expungement never hurts to give it a shot because what if it works out!! You never know!

And who knows if they do I’d say wait a bit then try again or try for another department. I was in a police academy last year but failed out due to some written exams and I was gonna try for another one in my area but the pay and stuff isn’t really great overall so I’m looking at trying for a department in Texas that’s like an hour and a half away from me so we’ll see how it goes! I’m just nervous to move now lol

I love these videos! I turn 21 in late June and I’m really hoping I can get into law enforcement. Biggest issue is not being able to be out of work for 16 weeks for the training academy
@The10CodeMindset7 ай бұрын
Thanks! When it comes to not being able to take 16 weeks off work, that is 💯 understandable. Some departments hire people and then put them through the academy, paid. Or, some rookie schools offer night classes. Might be an option for you
@Yes-qqqq7 ай бұрын
@@The10CodeMindset I’ll have to take a look into night schools thanks. Unfortunately I’ve already looked and In my state (North Carolina) according to all the police department I talked to require you got through the BLET program first.
@The10CodeMindset7 ай бұрын
I know for a fact there are some departments in NC that hire and then put people through BLET. I guess none in your geographical area? But hopefully night school is an option for you….something that can help keep that pursuit to law enforcement alive 👍
