My goal with applying to the Sheriff’s Office is to gain a few years of experience and either join the US Marshal Service or become an FBI/CIA Agent 💪🏽 I’m excited to see where this leads me if my application goes through. I pray to our God it does.

Not that you asked for my opinion, but I really enjoyed working with the Marshalls when they would request us local officers to assist from time to time.

Im concerned about the high school i attended and the school i received my diploma from is not around anymore. How deep do they go with educational background

I was living overseas in Japan and Thailand for the past 2 decades but recently returned stateside and would like to apply to become LEO. Would they able to conduct a background check ? One agency told to that i would be impossible while the Sheriff's Dept said it would be a problem

I just got done with my background interview today, and they scheduled me for my polygraph for this upcoming Monday. Do you have any tips? It seems like they have been pushing me through the process relatively fast.

Yep, be honest 😄👍 In all seriousness though, I wish you the best and if you get hired, be well and do great for others

I was the youngest in my class and retired last. I got on corrections in 1976. Three years later transferred to police. Just retired this week. My Pension hasn't been determined yet, but as a captain it will be 16-17k monthly. Then add on SSA, VA, and deferred comp. I was blessed to work with so many smart and talented people.

Hello, im thinking of being a police officer when i get out of the Marine Corps. I'm just curious if the job is similar to the military, like being in a squad and having a squad leader and team leader in charge of you. Also, is rising through the ranks similar to the marine corps where we have a jepes score and have to complete courses and extra training to raise our jepes points to rank up. Idk if jepes was a thing when you were still in lol. Thx cant wait to start

Who is Jepes? 🤪 Semper Fi! I got out in ‘07 and don’t remember jepes, however in regard to your questions, yes, there are parallels. I made this video a while ago to show how military experience can help: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kGibgYSwn8Zkerssi=dPwfr9C8ELpdBiKV

Been there, suffer that, no body will take care of you but your self, watch what you eat and drink and do it in moderation, take small walks and work out in small part time ways just to keep your self mobile and moving and watch your intake on alcohol and over the counter pills, stay healthy and stay safe...

HAHA! When I worked in the schools as a SRO and students were telling me there were born in '02, I thought "Oh my gosh I was in college then."

@@The10CodeMindset I was contacted by two LAPD officers about two years ago. They both said, "You were my background investigator. I just wanted you to know I just retired after 25 years." I really felt old right about then! :D

I went last weekend to run the obstacle course. I was the oldest (47) 1 in the class. I ran the course 6 seconds faster than kids 20 years younger than me. They didn't offer me a job. I left their a happy man. 26 year old young men and women were falling out all over the place. Some didn't even finish the course.

You showed them what beast mode is! 💪 That’s interesting some departments require a fitness test of some sort as part of the application process

Any advice for failing a Polygraph due to nervousness despite having a clean background?
@The10CodeMindset3 ай бұрын
Dang. That’s tough. I reached out to a polygraph examiner I know, about your question, and here’s the answer I got: The polygraph isn’t fool proof and is only as good as the examiner. The examinee may not have understood and followed the instructions exactly which could cause them to fail or it could be a super slight issue that she was concerned about but didn’t express it to the examiner. All in all, we don’t always get it right. I would advise her to move on and apply with a different agency and see if things could turn out differently with a different examiner. …. After getting in touch with my friend regarding your question, reading the response back, I can see why Ken said in the video he has a love/hate relationship with polygraphs. Hang in there. Opportunities come to those who are relentless.

Nervousness helps get more accurate readings. It doesn't contribute to failure.
