I once told my colleague that I dream of becoming financially independent through investing, working in charity, and building a cat shelter. She was gobsmacked and told me, there's no future and growth potential in that, and that I should pursue growth and advance in my (corporate) career. I answered, but that's not my definition of success. My definition of success is spending my life doing what brings me happiness, while having my assets pay for my bills

@@nidalkeskin2571 That being said, I would not want my society to go backwards. I will not be so content as to ignore the widening economic inequality caused by the rich and powerful. But as long as my health is in tact then I will not worry too much about how things turn out. In life we should not worry about things that are too far outside of our control.
