You inspired me to start gardening in 2020 and once I did I realize it made me feel close to my grandma. She had passed away a few years prior and she loved gardening. I was missing her so much specially after becoming a mom for the first time. I am having to garden in a wheelchair and scooter, too, and I agree a hose link would be great. But just in case neither of us win, I want to share you what I did to make it a little easier this year. I have a old school hose reel, the box kind, and it’s hand cranked, which I can still manage but the biggest problem I had is that there’s only one spigot I can get to at all and because I am on a hill, and can now only garden on a flat surface, i have to squeeze everything I do into the top of my driveway and it blocks my access to the hose reel, so even that was harder and harder to the point that many days it’s not worth the physical pain it caused. So this year I’ve got a wireless timer I can control with my phone at the spigot. It has 2 outlets. One is hooked up to drip, but the other connects to the hose. I purchased 3 leader hoses to get the right length, connected them and moved the old heavy hose reel box out where I can reach it. So, even though I can’t get to the spigot, I can turn it on with my phone and then I can rewind the hose reel in its current location thanks to the long leader hose. It’s not easy to crank and the hose drives me crazy with the kinking that I am constantly having to go back and forth to fix, but it’s doable again. So, longer leader hose and the app controlled timer that allows me to start the water without having to get to the spigot helped.

I just wanted to pop on and say that you really have inspired me to do more these past few years. I've grown food and flowers since I was little and even earned a masters in entomology to be able to work with growers and farmers. Unfortunately, it was an isolating and low paying job and I changed careers to be a teacher. 20 years later and you've inspired me to try my hand at being a flower farmer and I have my first market this coming Saturday! Something about the way you jump headlong into a project, trust that it will work out, and then just use it as a learning opportunity no matter what just gave me the confidence to do this. Also, you really do have the easiest to watch videos out there for gardening. I try to watch others that are more relevant to my zone or flower farming in particular and just can't finish a whole video often.

You've inspired me to create a butterfly / hummingbird garden for my 90 year old mother who's bedridden, but has floor to ceiling windows at the foot of her bed with a view of the butterfly / hummingbird garden. She spends her days noticing every plant, every bird, every flower, every squirrel, and every chipmunk. I used to just randomly plant individual plants, randomly. Now, thanks to your videos, I buy larger quantities of perennials and try to create "drifts". This year even added to annuals into the mix thanks to Laura's use of both. Laura and Aaron, I am really enjoying the Sunday recap videos on this channel. So appropriate that you have named it GA Highlights. If for some reason I don't have time to watch all the week's worth of videos, after watching highlights I can go back to watch what I missed. You two are just the gold standard as YT content providers, as parents, as inspirational and educational videographers, and as just all-around fine people. I love how no matter how big your channel has grown, you have remained just as same nice and normal as when you began your channel. No matter how big your property gets, and how small some of your viewers lots are, your advice is universal; there is something for everyone. I have half an acre and have gleaned so much information from your channel and want to thank you from the bottom of my 6B heart. Now about that Hoselink, please put me in that random scramble so I can stop my mild cussing everytime I😮 have to move my hose. Anyone walking by has probably seen me struggle with my hoses and heard me lamenting "non-kink my a _ _ !" Seems like I'm always apologizing to God for using bad words.
