I loved her graceful response to this question. Rolled her eyes and then explained. Laura is the most thankful grateful person. Just listen to how many times she says she is thankful and grateful in a video. We here on this Garden Answer channel can ask questions but not with a sting of resentment attached. You would like to have a pondless waterfall too? We would encourage you to get one and would love to see the pictures. We would love to see the plants you planted around it. I am sure it would be so pretty. That's how we roll...

I about spit my coffee out on the rude comment about the Aqua Scape. Gardening is all about change and making a person feel good. You can make it how you want it but then again, if you change your mind in 5 years, you can change it again. It doesn't mean you don't like it, you just want to change it up. Our tastes change like the seasons. Carry on and create happy. Keep doing you! I love it all! ❤

"Gardening is all about change" - omg, you are so so right. But some people just don't get it. They think that in gardening people are made for plants and not plants for people) I've been watching another gardening channel. And the lady there planted smth perennial and mentioned that she was planning to replant it to another place next year. And a man considered it necessary to write a comment, that she has no right to replant perennials, bacause thay need to grow at the same spot forever. And if she can not plant them in a permanent spot, she must not be gardening at all.

Aaron is so right about websites that say your problem could be too much OR too little of everything. I have spent hours trying to research and at the end still felt like I had made basically no progress. I can’t put “full sun” plants in actual full sun here in Texas or they will fry in the summer.)

A big con for the golden rain tree, for me, is that they attract boxelder bugs! By the hundreds! In the fall, the bugs all want to get into the house. I asked about pesticide controls when I went through the Master Gardener classes and learned that they are easily killed, but for every one that you kill, 50 of their friends come to the funeral.😅

I am still watching the video, and came to voice this!!! The bugs aren't harmful at all, but there are SO MANY of them!!! They get into your house. They stain fabric if you smoosh them on it. They are just everywhere! I have heard this is only for a female rain tree.... The trunk of ours literally looked alive and moving due to all the bugs. Birds won't eat them due to bitter taste... We had to get rid of our tree. I just could NOT tolerate the bugs.... They do die easily with soap and water. I went out twice a week for a growing season to spray, trying to keep the tree but manage the bugs... It only helped for a few days. Buyer, beware. Gorgeous trees, but the bugs... oh the bugs....

Criticism is based on emotion/judgement/their own wants and feelings/and even jealousies that they may not be aware of. Pruners story…..so I received a pair of coveted Felcos for Christmas. This Spring while shearing back my lavender I sliced off a good chunk of the tip of a finger. Nice clean slice…nothing to stitch back together. Finger healed, has a flat slide and no feeling. Worst part was, I had been wearing my gloves and took them off, because I didn’t feel like I could feel what I was doing well enough. Needless to say that was a wrong decision and now I always wear my gloves. Love my sharp, wonderful Felcos. BTW you two are a great balance for each other. It would be cool if you could coordinate with a couple or few gardening channels around the country and talk about your favorite trees/plants for that area. I’m in Oklahoma and I love watching your channel - as well as Jenny (Creekside) and Linda Vater (here where I’m at). You’re my favorite, and we are the same zone, but I’ve got Jenny’s soil and Linda’s Oklahoma bizarre-ness. Between the three of you, I get good ideas for my yard. If y’all threw Impatient Gardener and someone from like southwest and northeast in there, you’d hit the jackpot. It would be fun to see y’all do like a virtual hour or so chat about plants in your respective areas.

What I really like is that your not going to let something stop you from your projects. Moving the little pond for a bigger project. It just shows us how flexible we can be in the garden. We don't have to let a past decision stop us. I am pulling out some plants that I though I'd like. I hate there smell, i don't use the herbs. Making room for the plants I will use and enjoy.

😳wow, I have to wonder if the pond comment is from the same person that commented on your fountains? Things break, plants and trees die, shade happens, sun happens, get overgrown and you adjust to the changes. Some areas come together quickly and some take time... that is life and gardening. I just appreciate your positive attitude through it all.😊

Hi Laura in reference to your discussion about starting out, I miss the most when you used to film the Christmas decorations you did in every room in your house and you did it for years it was enchanting I was mesmerized not to mention the mail videos. But I am happy that you increased your pumpkin variety this year and not the limited like last, hope in the future you’ll consider at least the Christmas tree 🎄 decorations again.❤️

Listen all you Naysayers, I raised 3 children and have 7 grandchildren that were raised around a pool in backyard and a acre pond in our front yard 30 foot from our front door and never had any issues with it! How do you think farm kids are raised around ponds all over the property for livestock? Or kids with swimming pools in their yards! You teach your children respect for the water source and there shouldn’t be any problems!!

I wish no one ever lost a child by drowning. We have a neighborhood pond where a 2 year old was found in a shallow area. It happens. Kudos to everyone that makes sure their children get swimming lessons at an early age.

I'm not sure it's naysaying as much as being cautious. Drowning is in the top 4 reasons of accidental death for children ages 1 -4. And not just for careless parents. It's a real danger and concern that is not talked about enough.

This is comical but the best canopy I have ever seen on a gator someone took a very small rowboat and made a frame for it to sit upsidedown over the gator. I know, far to hillbilly for your place but it was fun to see! 😂😂

Swimming lessons are such a wonderful idea. The fact that your parents have a pool too where the children can practice what they learned in swimming lessons and show mom & dad they know exactly what to do when they fall in, is great. 😊 We all do our best to keep our children safe but -you know cars are dangerous but we still put our kids in the car. Can’t lock in the bedroom for their whole lives.

Whoever asked about Laura cutting her finger,I thought the same thing. As a teen I was using an electric trimmer and mde hamburger out of my right pointing finger. I was. Little nervous for her.❤ Thought I should say I couldn't get stitches because of the way it ground my finger so they taped it all down. Got the feeling back years later. It just looks funny.

Happy Sunday to everyone! Isn't so true, a trial and error for all areas of gardening. I had to laugh with the heat comment, my daughter took a summer job on a cut flower farm in Oakdale CA for the summer(Horticulture Student) and she laughs when I mention that Michigan weather is 80 and it is so hot! So excited to see the pond project, it is going to be great!
