Mathematics isone of best STEM degrees. Cousin did undergrad in mathematics at Edinburgh and Masters. Works for NAVIDIA in US now and easily worth over $10m under 30 with all stock options. Maths degrees from top universities are versatile

I think there needs to be some mention of risk also. The more risk you take the more money you make. I.e. surgeon vs gp, especially in America there is a lot of litigation against surgeons hence they are able to charge more. Hedge funds make more than basic asset managers.

I think the software engineers laid off would strongly disagree with this assessment of technical skills. The executives with zero technical skills make the real bag.

I agree with the tecniqual route 100% but with generative AI-software engineering is becoming more and more obsolete and automated.
