Great video and great tips Alex! One more thing i think worth mentioning is that the prices of accommodations change A LOT during high season (June to September). So you'll find better deals everywhere in Malta outside the high season.

I was in Malta between 15/03 and 22/03/2023 and I was pretty in love. I stayed in St. Paul's Bay and the only thing I didn't like was public transport because, not so much for the time it took to get to Sliema or Valletta but mostly because it was always crowded and never on time. I would definitely live in that area if I had a car because I don't think I could handle public transport in Malta. Besides that everything was perfect and I hope to get back soon! Thank you Alex! Your videos always help and I love you so much! Hope to meet you next time!

When a family with kids needs to rent , they need to look into a town that has a variety of expats so their kids can intergrate better in school and when playing. That my friend is where Marsaskala and st.paul shine. I have been living in marsaskala for more than 30 years now and i think there are more foreigners there than maltese people. Very good! Thank you Aleksej. When you get the price, point out anything that is not working well in the apartment or its “run down” mention to the landlord that you already have seen other apartments in better condition but if lower the price you would definitely sign a contract with him

Hi Alex! Watching this video I just found out that I was robbed. When I rent my apartment last December, the owner and the agent told me to pay 50% for the agent and no tax. And that the owner would pay more 50% to the agent and the taxes.

Do you know which agency it was ? Some agencies are splitting the commission between both parties, and some are charging 50%

Standard agency fee in Malta is 50% of 1 months rent plus 18% VAT. This is a fee paid by both the tenant and the landlord when signing the contract.

Actually to be expat in Malta is a little bit difficult because of rent prices... Instead of wasting money in another country, if he/she has a good salary in origin country, they will not choose to work in Malta... I hope people can offer free accomodation in country to call expats to Malta, otherwise people will feel pressure on themselves about prices :(( PS: Malta is touristic place so prices can go to top in summer but expat will not pay so much money like a tourist.
