Pro tip that's too late for you, once you've put the paint stripper on, cover it in a layer of cling film (that you cover food with) and it traps the gases coming off making the paint stripper more effective and the paint easier to scrape off. Looking forward to see her with paint on!

What a job, truly talented friends you have. The lead was over the top. I worked at the Ford Lincoln plant as a teenager, a lot of the seams were all leaded in then. They stopped when the tradesman all we’re getting sick from it, one of the reasons that you don’t see it anymore. The inside of the fenders had to be just maddening. Hope you were able to spray something similar to the Eastwood rust neutralizer/sealer inside the panels you couldn’t take off. Can’t wait for the next update. ✌️
@juiceboxforyou Жыл бұрын
Yeah, we did the full rust neutralizer and then finished it with epoxy, it took forever and really we started to lose our minds on it but it all worked out in the end. Trying to clean those hard-to-reach spots after the paint stripper was a nightmare but every inch of progress makes me smile no matter how miserable. The lead was a treat to watch, I bet long term its not good for the body, delighted I got to see some of it in action of a few parts of this build.

Lead filling like that is quite the art indeed, getting it just warm enough and not having it rum out is harder then it looks. Yet American cars had this done from the factory to at least the early to mid 70's. A B body Mopar coupe (Charger, Superbee etc) had quite a hefty weld joint midway on the C pillar where the roof structure met the body, this was always lead filled. Imagine doing that all day, being high all day every day..
