Why? As you said in the video, Neil, it's simple: as 80 kids we are, we grew up with many cool black cars. But as always, as AE86 owners, we receive the same question: "Why not in black and white?" I have a friend here in Japan with an AE86 (green and black), and many people ask the same question in meetings. My god... If only they knew the popular color back in the day in Japan wasn't that one... I say this as an Initial D AE86 replica owner, and if I wasn't interested in the anime, probably I would aim for a Black Limited because it looks so cool, even if you prefer plain black, haha.

As a kid, growing up in the 2000s, I was obsessed with back to the future and the Delorean. It was an old movie when it was new to me and none of my friends ever knew about it, but I watched it on DVD until the disc got too scratched to use hahaha, same addiction

this was incredible, my stepdad had a 1953 studebaker hard top - white with light ice blue flames... It was the coolest car I've ever seen and since then I've never seen anything like it - now I'm obsessed with white cars and building a eg hatch civic in pearl white. i really get it. A man after my own heart. Max’s V8 MFP interceptor pursuit special ford falcon was the ultimate in butch muscle in my opinion growing up. Still one the coolest cars ive ever seen. Oh, so THIS is why I like black cars! It all makes so much more sense now :D Agree with you on print media, it will always have a special place in my heart. I've barely 2-3 shelves of them myself, but it keeps my glasses a healthy shade of rose tinted for sure! Some old Best Motoring issues, tons of Max Power and Redline because they were readily available at the time, and a bunch of old Top Gear mags to round it out.
