Great build, the only suggestion I would make for safety reasons is add a taxi bar between the roll cage just behind the seats, just the window height, this is for two reasons, 1. if you get hit from behind the seats wont crash backwards if the brackets break , 2. attach your seat belts to this bar as in a crash the shorter the straps the less they stretch. Just a thought, once again very nice build. Cheers

Panda color would of been nice, but that white is very good! Have you thought of sharing this with any car magazines? The level of detail is very good & they would appreciate it! Thank you for sharing a great project, and hope to see it running soon :)
@Evolution20v7 жыл бұрын
I had though about the panda colors, but I don't think it screams racecar i that color scheme. Talked to my painter, and he recommended this Super White II with clearcoat. When the cars are ready to run, I have plans to contact some magazines :-)

daam thats some nice work i wish i had the money, time and more importend the skill to do the same thing
@knightbreed3887 жыл бұрын
i reckon the next big thing you should do is an independent rear suspension conversion, a lot of guys do it in the old corollas using nissan S13 rear subframes. It would be great for a track/hillclimb car
@Evolution20v7 жыл бұрын
Yes it could be nice, but if the car should race in any class here in Denmark, this conversion are not allowed. And it could never drive on the road either.
@knightbreed3887 жыл бұрын
Ah fair enough. The Regs are the same here in Malaysia. Would be awesome for an unlimited class kind of build

What a fucking build holy shit I have a sr5 hatch I daily here in Hawaii with way more rust then that and I could only imagine what the body restoration was like respect ur 86 is as dream and alll in that little shed soo kool Dreams.
@Evolution20v7 жыл бұрын
All the Danish carsare rustbuckets, so thats why I bought a import. We have the highest humidity in the world and they spray salt on the roads every winter. Still we got some of the oldest cars, because we have the most expensive cars in the world, exept for Cuba :-(

Almost all race car projects start from a daily and I don't hate it for that it's just that you do that he rarer it gets to see it on he streets
@drunksaru7 жыл бұрын
That is some excessive spot welding you did there in my opinion. Hopefully you're not going to race it all the time since you did such a nice job restoring it. Otherwise, if you track constantly, I would say the body would last about 1, maybe 2 years before it starts to warp. About 15 years ago, I helped a friend build his 86 but we decided on a 3S instead of 4A. Since then, he's blown the engine so now he has a Frankenstein engine which is a mix of a 4AGE and 7AFE. I'm getting all nostalgic now. Anyway, take care of that car. looks great!
@Evolution20v7 жыл бұрын
The spot welding strengthen the body and the roll cage are not just for safety, it also strengthen the body when mounted like I did. But no, I will not race it, only same trackdays and hillclimb for fun :-) A 7A-GE can be pretty powerfull, so not a bad choice :-)

when you took it to the track it got me to watch the whole video :D edit: i subed
