AEF NEFL Eagles ~ Gabby & The Visitor Spend The Morning & Evening Together! No Beau! 9.19.24

Beau was last seen waiting on Gabby for several hours as he rested in the nest on Tuesday Sept 17th. The visitor with the injured feet came to the nest tree late on Tuesday evening and spent the night. He was with Gabby on Wednesday and again today Thursday Sept 19th (both Morning & Evening). He is spending Thursday night with Gabby so far.
This coverage begins in the morning on Thursday Sept 19th with both Gabby and V perched in the nest tree after spending the night together. Cam ops zoomed in on his feet - they do seem a bit better. V will eventually fly and Gabby stays for a few hours before flying herself. V came back a few times during the day.
Gabby flies in to the nest tree in the evening at dusk with the last rays of the sun highlighting her beautiful face. The visitor is perched below the nest. When Gabby drops to the nest, guess who joins her? V and Gabby will do some aerating of the nest and moving a stick. Gabby was very calm and did not show any nippy behavior tonight with V. After a few minutes, V flew to LOP and Gabby went up sunset branch. Tonight they both are perched on the Wallenda.
Gabby clearly is comfortable & likes being around this visitor. Nestorations are a bonding behavior between the eagles - we will wait & watch what happens between them. I do not think Beau is out of picture. Eagles fight for nests, territory and mates so that is something we don't want to see between V and Beau but could happen. Thank you for watching!

They are gentle and affectionate, and they work well together. I really hope things work out for all of them. As much as I feel bad for Beau, as of last season the way he was on again off again with the egg, it makes me worry how he would be with the eaglets if there were any. Poor Gabby had been patient with him first learning how to mate then how to incubate she lost 2 seasons with him already. My affection is first with Gabby I hope she has a successful season she deserves to be a mom again with the help of her mate whoever she chooses 💖

she only had one season with him. He came in late December 2022 ... hardly time to have a "season" and he fought off so many other eagles he had no time to do anything but protect her. she obviously has no loyalty to him. What is she going to do if this guy can't hunt and provide, his feet are so bad he probably can't fight anymore either]] To me he is in old age like a retired guy Beau seems to have invested 2 season for zero squat nothing ... move on Beau to better pastures

I hereby name the visitor Sebastian. I like him and his sweet spirit and really wish that regardless of whom Gabby chooses, this precious boy is at least given a name. I also like Beau...and even though it's early in the season, it will be Gabby's decision. If Beau isn't chosen, he is young, vibrant and resilient and I am absolutely sure he'll have no problem finding another mate. It's what they do. It's disheartening to read all of the negativity across KZbin towards this eagle and his toe for crying out loud. CLEARLY he has no issues hunting and keeping himself fed and healthy. I can only hope and pray that whomever ends up there to stay, that there won't be too much harm done to EITHER Sebastian or Beau in the process. They are BOTH vying for Gabby's attention and both so very beautiful and headstrong...she'll make the right decision for her future egg laying, successful incubation and beautiful eaglets. Can't we all just root for that? ❤🦅🦅🦅❤️

If I were to comment in NEFL's live chat, then I obviously wouldn't use a self-picked nickname to refer to Gabby's current male companion, but I've been calling him Shawn in private conversations, because it feels silly to call him Visitor or A1. 😃 I haven't watched any NEFL videos last year and haven't seen what his talons looked like then, but I was happy to read that their condition seems to have improved. Regardless of the condition of his talons, I don't understand why some people feel the need to make fun of him for having necrosed tissue or think it makes him unworthy of Gabby's attention, and like you, I'm fine with whatever partner-choice Gabby makes.

I agree with you! He looked exhausted to me and usually they are busy on the nest, not just napping - they lay down when there are eggs to brood or chicks to protect.

Gabby chooses and we just have to wait and see. V evidently feeds himself and Gabby must feel he can pull his weight on the nest if she chooses him. Beau might just need another year but only Gabby's timeline will tell. 🙏🧡, Lady Hawk!

Very comfortable and compatible together. He's very respectful of her nest, which gets my stamp of approval. She's flirting! I hope his dead bits eventually fall off of his toes. He seems a good weight, looks really big, until he's next to Gabby! So he does ok for himself, even after a year. I think his toes look better than last year. Without seeing a before, that is! If Beau loses out, he'll find a good mate, no worries, and he might be off with her right now, who knows 🥰. We might have had a love quadrangle! At least Gabby was able to educate Beau for a possible new lucky lady! I hope it all works out without serious fighting and everyone winds up with their best mate. It's been quite an interesting journey, anyway! No human has ever been in this situation, oh never! 😍

This "nest story" truly reminds me of Jackie & Shadow out in Big Bear. We never found out what happened to Mr. B & it's quite sad to think about the what ifs. I pray that NO eagle gets hurt here. I feel bad for Beau though 😢🦅😢

I still am feeling sad about this situation. Can’t help but to want Beau as her mate he had been around and was the first one back to the nest this season. I don’t see how there won’t be a fight between the boys. Looks like this one don’t want to go anywhere either. Just trying to understand that’s all

Gabby is very comfy and relaxed with V. 😊❤🦅 I think they know each other for quite long and well now. We truly do not know much and most of their lives and how they spent all this time outside the nest and after season. I think that Gabby wasn't spending time with Beau after last season 😔💔 Unfortunately I couldn't see any progress in building their relationship 😕 She probably spent more time with Visitor for us but for Gabby with V. 🤗 V. is smitten with Gabby and will not give up this year I think 🤔 What about Beau 😢🌈 I can't imagine not seeing him around the nest and without Gabby 😕😔🙈 There is still hope 🙏❤ What Gabby will do 😅😊🤞🍀💟 This nest and Gabby personality is fascinating ❤😊🦅😁 Can't wait for another day 🤗 🌈 Dear Lady Hawk thank you for this footage, interesting comment and please keep us posted 🙏💐💞🍓💗🍫 🐝🤗☘️

These two seem quite comfortable together. Gabby is not “tolerating” him. She is flat out bonding with him. She started nesting with him and that says a lot. Will be interesting to see how things go, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the two of them continued on and raised a clutch together. And yes I agree that their comfortability indicates that they probably spent summer time together. Can we see that or do we know for sure? No. But how she has been with Beau compared to this guy is night and day. She wanted Beau off of that tree last week. This guy she is affectionate with!
