This video was extremely helpful and well explained. Took me through all the steps and didn't leave anything out. I managed to fix my fridge freezer in just over 2 hours (which sounds like a long time but saved me the repair cost!). Thank you so much!

I have done this around 8 years back, next to go was the fan and then the electronics... good video, would've saved me a lot of hassle, had to do it the experimental way.

Just had this problem with my zanussi fridge freezer luckily it was a case of a simple defrost of the matrix...very helpful tutorial indeed :)

I have a Zanussi myself - now could you explain me how I remove the matrix (air intake cover)? The mid"-clips" I manage but the sides - there are two slots with probably some sort of clip in there somewhere. Which way shall I press a screwdriver?

@@delaBoujardiere Hi there just wondering did you manage to remove the cover as I am having the same problem and no screws visible. My one is electrolux but similar to the 1 Paul is working on above.
@delaBoujardiere Жыл бұрын
Sorry but no. I had a serviceman for an evt. repair. Unfortunately he could not do anything due to a leakage in the cooling system (thats what he said). Furthermore, to open and dismantle the system was almost impossible as it was more or less sealed. End of story, I bought a new fridge-freeze. @@jennifermartin7526

excellent tutorial, only thing is you say that the plug on the left is for the heater, on mine which is the same model that plug is for the two NTC sensors , have i got this wrong ?

Fantastic video, this is the exact model of our fridge freezer which was not getting cold. So my defrost heater measured 183 R. NTC's looked ok, overheat sensors looked ok. However following the money back to the control box by the compressor, the defrost heater Triac had popped big time! it actually made a little hole in the PCB, I've ordered a new Triac so I can do a PCB board level repair but what would cause a 4A rated Triac to pop like that? my 10yr old heater R looks a little low? I won't be doing the fix till the weekend but any thought on the failure? my new heater measures 191.5 R and yours in your video measured 194.2R - to me my old heater is reading possible out of normal range?

Had the same problem with a Zanussi as in the Fridge not cooling but the problem was that the vent behind the evaporator in the freezer was iced up. You can find out if this is your problem by opening the fridge door and holding closed the door switch and see if you can feel any cold air coming from the vent under the fridge light (this will only happen if the compressor is running), if no air is flowing open the freezer door and if the cold air starts to flow from the vent then the vent at the bottom left of the fridge that goes to behind the evaporator in the freezer is blocked with ice. An easy fix is to remove the vent cover in the fridge and blow hot air with a hair dryer (at fast speed) directly into the vent for about 5mins. This should melt the ice at the end of the vent and allow the air to flow again.

Dave, I found this is the problem with mine. I don't have the tools to take off the vent. Can I just turn it off and let it melt away over night?
@streambeo80774 жыл бұрын
@@nicholasmcmahon3587 sure that would work but 24 hours is recommended for full defrost
@nicholasmcmahon35874 жыл бұрын
@@streambeo8077 thanks! I will give that a shot tomorrow. All of a sudden the fridge has just stopped being cold! I can see through the vent in the freezer that it is covered with ice! I hope this helps!

Hi thanks for that, I've checked the temp sensor and heater and get continuity from both, I suspect the fan as it use to be loud when we bought it new but now is very quite, how do I check the fan and how do I check the regulator as I take it controls the fan speed?, also how much are the fan motors for theses fridges? Thanks for your help

Hi i have an AEG Model: S 75358 KG38; Product nº: 925034048-01 that in the last 2 month got the problem where freezer works ok but fridge stoped working. In the firts 2 times i unplugged the appliance for 24 hours and it started working again normally. Now it’s the third time and i guessed it was something wrong with the defrost heater. After seeing your video i got hands to it and started to dissassemble the appliance, but now i don’t know what to do. The defrost heater as continuity(292 ohms) and the thermal switch also have continuity. What can i do next? what part should i buy?
