Quite the project you purchased, I hope you manage to find all the necessary parts you need. I would love to see this project come together.

Looking forward to part 2, especially on how you will handle the bushings. Happy new year from Belgium!

Great video. I wonder if the tool can be settled firmly on the working surface without these 2 metal legs? I see a flat surface on its top...May be it is designed for such placement?

Well done Matt, really looking forward to seeing this restored. I would recommend using your ultrasonic cleaner for the plastic housing after scraping the bulk of the gunk off. There might be some discoloration of the plastic especially if using a hot tank or highly alkaline detergent but the ultrasonic is ideal. It can also be used for the aluminum housing but be careful with how long you leave it in there and don't use something corrosive to aluminum. I would try to use differential heating to get that bushing out. The aluminum should expand faster and more so than the bronze. Maybe a heat gun first then a small torch if needed? All the electrical stuff I'd blast with some contact cleaner. Finding actual replacement parts like the rollers might be a challenge. The bearings and bushings can be sourced relatively easily from McMaster-Carr or similar. I hope you'll have time to restore this, really wanting to see this process to its completion.

Great viodeo.Can you tell me the parameters (profile,lenght and width) for drive belt.
@labrat73575 жыл бұрын
I had one that I gave to my brother it kept eating the drive belts and I could not source the right size. Mine all come with a sanding frame that attempted to prevent dig in on flat surfaces. Bigger drums reduce the amount of flex the belt and its joint is put through. That black knob is the adjustment you need to leave it run and turn it under speed.

Hello , good value for the money or budget german or european brand tool??

Maybe the bushing was shot because the drive belt has been too tight at some point?
@GermanToolReviews6 жыл бұрын
Not sure, was strange that it was only on one side, which was the closet to the belt. So possibly the wrong size belt was used? I didn't see a way to tension the belt.
@VictorGarciaR6 жыл бұрын
@@GermanToolReviews Maybe someone replaced the belt, and was unable to find original belts. That explains why the belt does not fit 100%, someone found the closest thing to an original belt and replaced it

I have got the BS75 with the surface frame which you don't have there, it's nice!! If you need help to source parts take a look at mtmc.co.uk they have exploded parts diagrams for lots of Festool. You probably need someone with a hydraulic press to remove the bushings, good luck!!
