i also like it, but imo the blue should be a bit darker, and the overall tone should be more metallic - but yeah, ive just realized that it does indeed look like the blue angels paint jobs

Yeah, at present time I prefer the regular Warden skin as it matches other Aegis ships like the Retaliator and Hammerhead. The Hoplite and Harbinger skins are pretty decent too but the Sentinel is definitely the worst one in my opinion. Here's hoping CIG will indeed offer some cool skins for the Vanguard in the near future. They recently had a batch for the 100-series as well as a 'ghoulish green' skin that can be applied to the Cutlass series. Would be cool to see some Vanguard skins too. :)

@@jetstumpy All I see is IKEA. ^^ And yeah I dislike that color combination. I have Warden and I like its skin the most, but I do wish I had the inside of it as Sentinel has it. The insides of Warden reminds me of The Outer Worlds color theme.

Stealth is pretty pointless, because you're not going to appreciably be able to reduce the signature with powerful shields. 90% of the EM signature comes from the shields alone. The only way these matter is if you turn off the shield to try for a sneak attack, but that sneak attack better be over in a second or two, because shields take a few minutes to reach 100%. Which means if you're unable to pretty much instantly destroy the target, you're basically toast or have to run away. And all that will do is keep them from locking missiles, it won't keep them from targeting you.

Yeah there is a little bit of that. Component targeting is going to make this more viable. The functional version of an ambush probably looks more like this; You leave one shield (stealth class) active and then turn off your huge capacity shield to get to the edge of your weapon's range. You target the primary weapon of the enemy ship and render it inoperable before the encounter really starts, then you follow up by quickly preventing the ship from escaping by taking out the quantum drive. Like stealth in life, you are banking on the delayed acquisition time from your enemy in combination with scoring and advantage early that you can build off of to win out. You dont need twice the shields if the enemy has half of your firepower and doesnt know where you are yet.

Only problem with this weapon loadout on the Sentinel is that all guns are bound to the primary weapon button, since the EMP is on the secondary. You can't "save" the ballistic ammo til you get in range of them.

Honestly probably one of the most useful and important ships in the game in terms of features. Beds, food processor, equipment storage make this ship liveable for those who don't seek luxury. While the 'e-warfare' stuff might be able to do any number of things that most other ships cant. It could be more versatile or more specialized depending on how the mechanics work. As a simple example, if it could scramble sensors in a subtle way to reduce radar detection radius in a ship you target... the IR and EM rating of your ship might fall outside of the reduced radius with stealth components and you can pass without notice.

How will you use EMP with guns setup to left and rightmouse, there's no keymap for it...

When you fire with left click all guns fire. And there is no way to separate them. This is a small downside especially if you are mixing ballistics & energy. I typically use energy and don't have any issues.

I'm not sure if you use them, but if you do, could you please do a guide on HOTAS setup, specifically how to use HOTAS for mining? I realize all HOTAS are different in their own way, but if you could please provide some general button recommendations (what Hats to use, what throttle buttons, etc). I recently tried mining with my T.Flight 4 (Thrustmaster), and it was a nightmare, constantly getting blown by wind, and not knowing how to raise the laser power levels, and I can't find any good guides on the internet. Thank you regardless for all the vids you do!

Hey, guys, who allready tryed this build? Is it actually working good? Cuz i can't understand how you should use your EMP, if you are supposed to fight on a long distances. Also DPS drops from 3k to 2k. I just don't have a lot of money to upgrade my Vanguard, so i want to know first ;D

I recently got this ship, and by recently I mean yesterday. I like it a lot, but since I'm still at stock loadout so I appreciate this guide. Sadly, I may have a bit of trouble shopping for the parts right now. I got stopped a couple of times by security on my first trip to a station, and after the second one I hit the throttle and I guess the security Sabre decided to intersect my course. He died, I got charged with his death while my ship merely took a hit. I'm simultaneously impressed and annoyed. Well, at least there's always GrimHex.

Distortion weapons seems to work very well im 3.11! Maybe it's worth to keep a couple of ATVS in the nose

EMP isn't viable untill they give it a dedicated 2 stage bind and remove it from the Weapons gun groups EMP and QED should have their own dedicated weapon group. i use a Nose scattergun and laser repeaters for taking out valks (HRT) missions the EMP kinda feels incompleat anyway, when you charge it, it should really not form a bubble it should just create sparks around the EMP and louder chare noise. this isn't DRAGON BALL Z :)

GREAT video. In fact, I decided to go with a new Sentinel because of your recommendations & ship comparison vids. So I bought my Sentinel in game 3 days ago..Was killing it bounty hunting and took some damage (from an asteroid) so I went to Port Olisar for repairs and restock. After I did the F1 restock, refuel and repair my right engine was capped an no longer functions. There is literally a plug where the thruster should be. Doesnt matter if I destroy it, respawn it at different locations across the verse, but it keeps spawning with no right engine and its not just cosmetic, I have half the thrust and maneuverability is garbage...Totally sucks because I absolutely loved the Sentinel for the first 3 days I was able to use it bounty hunting. Any suggestions other than a character reset?

I would switch the laser repeater for Canon. Just because projectile speeds of size 5 laser repeaters move the same speeds as size 5 cannons. Speed of the Lazer is the same and the ammunition will almost be the same as well. For the damage and round per second trade-off the cannons are far superior

Spicule is a good alternative to the XL1 it's slower for long distance but in planetary orbit the spool/charge time is very fast so for intercepting it's very useful

Do the upgrades that you add to your ship gets wiped when a wipe occurs or staying in the ship that you owen ?

If the StarCitizen wipes items you will lose them. If you die you get them back as part of your insurance.

Hi, I just started playing 3 weeks ago, and just bought my 2nd ship, the Vanguard Sentinel. I have a question regarding the turret, if I remove it or unequip them, will it help with the capacitor thingy or ammo count of my other energy weapons?
