Unfortunately that is what the ielts needs. They want you to talk continously without any silences. You have to talk in a strict way. Remember English is probably not her first language. Ielts is mandatory for her, especially for jobs and universities.

As someone said in the comments, this is how people sound during tests. This is the ‘Academic IELTS’, she should not sound like she is talking to a friend, because that is not the point of the course. I sounded very similar in my Mandarin Chinese Speaking Exams, although I can speak it much more naturally in real life, because I had to deliver my arguments in a certain way.

Where do you stay? I stay in a high rise building, on the 20th floor out of the 30th floor, located in posh locality of Ahemadabad, in a sprawling 240acres of land.
