Marion’s and Tex’s voices are still remarkable and I absolutely adore their talent and wish I could have seen them live!

I love Marion Hutton, especially from the two movies, Orchestra Wives and Sun Valley` Serenade. I really was a big fan of Tex, too. No one else did it like him.

Tex was so talented. brill sax and cheeky drawling vocals. loved him - and I was born in 1961. (been following this since I was 15)

My dad was born in 39 and he was a huge big band fan, and when I was a kid we had a roller skating rink open up around 1977 or 78 and my parents being teenagers in the 50s used to go skating as a date. So when the rink opened we would go every Sunday night because it was family night. They would play organ music only (all big band songs) and I learned all the songs by heart. I was born in 66 and I still know the words to a good deal of Glen Miller, the Dorsey Bros, Johnny Mercer etc. Even though I'm mostly a rocker I still enjoy listening to the big bands. There are a lot of rock groups that have a horn section and I always thought it brought out the best in some songs. No autotune no gimmicks just pure talent which you don't see a lot of anymore, or very rarely.

Tex is my new spirit animal. I wonder what he might have done with some country-blues-rock arrangements e.g Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings if he were one musical generation or two later than he was. Also, If this show were on today looking nostalgically 40 years to what was current, we'd see Blondie playing hits from Parallel Lines and also Bob Marley, the Ramones, Van Halen and the Cars.
