I just love that Louisiana accent! A real southern belle and she and her singing sisters are legends in my mind. I learn again in those days, how Americans faced adversity and worked and worked to prevail against them, as she did against polio. Cap off to her!

that she was able to handle the career she had is amazing , but polio or not , SHE WAS GREAT , and after all these years those recordings are still magnificent - she had a fabulous voice and knew what to do with it ! SPECTACULAR !

This is why vaccines are needed. Most people have no idea that things like polio once existed because it's been wiped out in the US by everyone having been vaccinated in some manner.

Connie was very positive and an inspiration! It must've been terrifying to be in bed paralysed with Polio like that.

Thanks so much for uploading this! Big Connee and Boswell Sisters fan but I don't think I've ever seen this interview before. Yay Connee and yay vaccines. And a big yay to you for sharing this. :) (Edit: typo)

She is not lying about the food trick. Even now it is almost impossible to train a dog to hold food in their mouth without eating it AND give it back! I could tell just watching her rapport with the dog that she was a MASTER dog trainer on top of being one of recorded music's vocal pioneers. Much respect 💪🏾

Connee was the only sister of the three to continue her music career after the sisters split. The other two devoted themselves to being mothers. This is according to Wikipedia.

Is this lady named Lee Phillip, the same lady who was married to soap opera writer and producer William J. Bell of THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS fame?
@randallriley7 жыл бұрын
Yes it is the one and the same!

Exactly. (Bill Bell, Jr., William J's father, lived in our building and was a friend of my parents in the 60's and early 70's.)
