I've had absolutely zero luck getting the serial connection to work. I've followed the instructions to the T. Used a male DB9 rs232 output adapter as instructed in the directions (not the female), and checked wires thoroughly, checked my laptops device manager, and all the settings were perfect. But again, every single time I tried to log, the channel would disappear from the scanner. I checked continuity on all my connections, abs even tried swapping the wires on the adapter like some have to when the accidentally used the female output adapter. Still nothing. I had cracked down and spent the $250 on the HP tuners pro features set with the data link cable 🤢🥵. Yeah, it made me sick lol. But now there is zero issues. I later talked with some guys that had issues like I did, and they all said they ended up spending a little more money on higher quality serial adapters and USB to serial cables, abs then it worked fine. They concluded that the cheap Chinese made adapters and cables are junk, and said that was why nothing was working before. I guess I'll never know for sure myself, because my problems are solved with the pro features set data link. But it makes me wonder if I could have saved a lot of money if I had just gotten bigger quality serial adapters 🤷. Wish I'd of known before spending the $250. HP tuners still NOT under any circumstances refund you for a return. They'll only replace products that are defective. Thanks for this video guy. It's very clear and easy to follow. Just thought I'd share my story here just in case some guys are having issues.

For my Mitsubishi I used EvoScan to data log. I used ECUFlash for applying tune. But just for simply data logging I used evoscan. If you don’t have evoscan I recommend getting it. It’s not terribly expensive and has helped a lot. It recently helped in the diag of my faulty IAC by being able to read the data of different modules.
