AEM wideband channel disappearing on hptuners scan - Solution

In this video you will see how I resolve the issue where my AM wideband channel was disappearing in HB tuners scanner upon starting of recording a scan and this would be with the AEM serial AFR.
AEM wideband I use

Adapter to create db9 serial port on vehicle.

since Amazon just gives links to these products that you can then pull down and select additional options just be careful to make sure you pick the proper mail and female opposing sides between the adapter and the serial cable.

In my case it works fine on my laptop. On my windows tablet, I can see the data coming in terminal but still disappears. I wish HP tuners had some logging for this kinda stuff.

what'd it show in hyperterminal to let you know it was communicating?

it was just a terminal feed of the data stream in nice clean text of the AFR at a moderately fast interval.

seems to occur less after more windows updates. but restarting windows always seems to work.

I'd say not really. Once I figured out the pin issue it's since been flawless.

Not the pins, but the on and off comm port stuff with reading and dropping
