why is it for 2008 - up if the obd2 is a passthru to the mpvi2+? wouldnt the vcm scanner see it on a 99 for example?

So I have a question. I installed this sensor on my exhaust under the car.. considering the heating function…. Will it damage the sensor if it’s hooked up, while loading a new tune via hptuners? Since the sensor self heats when power is supplied by the ignition? Or is it advised to unplug the sensor plug while having to load a tune while engine is off ??

Ok I can get the "WB EQ Ratio 1 (SAE)" to work. But how come when I search WB I have specifically a list come up for the AEM X series wideband. But those channels will add but they will not work. The only one that works is "WB EQ Ratio 1 (SAE)". Is this really the right WB channel to use?

the problem of this kit, I think putting AFR sensor at the end of tailpipe, might have inaccurate reading of the exhaust specially with good high efficiency catalizer

I'm stoked that the tailpipe sniffer would be recommended. That gonna give the same afr as the collector area? Or do you supply a guide for how far off it will be based on how many inches or feet distance you're covering?

It would be around 0.3-.05 leaner at the tailpipe than at the engine/Collector

I have a question for anyone with go tuner experience that is willing to take the time to read this I'm new to ls motors...i own hptuners and I've been tinkering around with the tune on my 2003 silverado RCSB 4.8/nv3500 for about a year now...my truck is stock except for some long tube headers into true duals and a cold air intake, i finally lucked my way into a good tune that feels good by copying and segmenting over tables from other tunes onto mine...i don't have a wide band system yet but plan to few month or so....my question is this: I'm getting ready to install a lq4 that I slapped together with 243 heads, tbss intake and a ported throttle body....i also installed a summit pro ls stage 3 truck cam ( part# sum-8713)...its .545/.545 lift with 222/231 duration at .050 and 112°lobe seperation +5° advance.....my question is can i segment the timing table from a tune that is already tuned for a cam with the same 112 lobe separation and expect it to be close enough timing to safely use as a base timing....because my lq4 has 243 heads with their smaller combustion chambers...im scared that if I try to rev it up high on the same timing as the stock 4.8 tune that I might possibly cause a piston to hit the valves....any advice or expertise would be greatly appreciated

Afr directions say wideband o2 should be 18 inches from the cylinder head, before a catylitic converter, and as far away from the tailpipe as possible. I called aem, they say mount the wideband 18-36 inches from cylinder head

I'm curious about the tailpipe mount. Doesn't that create a data lag which makes it pretty bad for tuning? Also, doesn't the cat change the results?

For those with the gold key with red slash... when you text search WB do NOT pick the wb AEM folder with the 30-03XX that WILL give you a false sense that it's the correct one, but WRONG!!!selecting that one will give you the gold lock key! I searched & found that instead of clicking that AEM folder which makes you think its correct, but is not! as you text search WB, look under engine then oxygen sensors, then WB EQ RATIO 1 ( mixture ratio) select that one & you will see the wideband channel pop up & work! I searched & asked for a few days & got NO help & figured it out! your welcome!

Can this Wideband be used as Guage 1 of 2 with AEMs Failsafe Wideband Gauge(30-4900) on top of the X series Gauge to monitor the other Bank with the added benefit of Failsafe Gauge if a for example a serious lean out happens to safe the engine in real time!?

It's best to install a bung and install it right in front of the primary cats for the best readings.

If you have the pro it should have a dongle with two analog inputs. If you have the standard you would need to purchase the cable and pro feature upgrade for $250. I have heard of hooking up an analog wideband through the ac pressure sensor but lots of confusion and mixed results.

The polling intervals are not something we change. If you are having trouble seeing the data clearly, I would suggest using the graphs or the charts to give you a better visual reference.

You can still use any wideband to monitor. If you want to OVERLAY inside the software then you with your setup you will have to wait for the expander hub and pro options-yes.

You will need to make sure your MPVI2 is upgrade to the Pro version to use with a Pro Link. Only a Pro enable interface can understand the analog signal on non CANBUS vehicles. Upgrade the MPVI2 to a MPVI2 Pro is an easy upgrade option and comes with the Pro Link. Thanks for watching!

AEM is complete junk. I bought one of their setups only to have the wideband sensor go out. They didn't honor the warranty cause I bought an open box item. I ordered a standard 4.9 Bosch sensor which it takes, but little did I know these guys modify the sensor with a trim resistor so you have to buy a $30 sensor for $125 from them. This wasn't immediately clear in the instructions. I tried to log PE and could have blown my engine. I was relying on the gauge but didn't know that little known thing about their factory sensor calibration. I'll never buy another thing from them again!
