Funnily enough, he’s more of a “grey character” than Daemon, who George loves calling grey. The cycle of abuse is so obvious with Aegon; you can tell how he became the way he is, and how he seeks validation his family never gave him. Plus the fact he’s been told from a young age his older sister will kill him to protect her claim. Meanwhile Daemon had a great father and mother, a solid relationship with his older brother (at least up to a point), and a very clear path in life (Hand of the King, heir) if he could’ve just been trustworthy enough.

What’s heartbreaking is the fact that Jaecerys seems so strong in his conviction now since after Rhaenyra told him Aegon’s dream it was confirmed with what Cregan told him up at the wall. I’m surprised That Aegon didn’t establish more of an emphasize on Stark relations, or any Targaryen king thereafter who knows the secret. Seems obvious to have the biggest alliance with House Stark since the beginning of the Dynasty if the purpose of conquering the kingdoms was to prepare it to unite against the Winter. Like what if Aegon made it so there must be a Stark as the Hand or on the council or something. A kingdom ran by Ice and Fire.

Re: Aemond sheathing his sword and what I think that means -- I think he had it out to put his brother out of his misery, but when he got closer he thought he might be able to live so he put it away, but h happened to get caught doing that so out of context looks really sketchy. Do I think Aemond would do anything to save his brother? No, but I also think he knew it would look bad if he did do something because I don't think he knew it was Cole stepping up, ut armour makes a lot of noise, I'm sure he heard someone coming up from behind, so thought it best to put his sword away, mostly for optics tbh

It's not a budget issue. For Game of Thrones they decided that contact lenses would obstruct the eyes and therefore part of the acting, and they can't randomly make their ancestors all have purple eyes now... And there's still a lot of subtle acting with the eyes in this show anyway.

Aegon is definetly not a villain. He is a person who was beimg used as a tool and formed by the neglect of his family and the constant fear of his sister killing them. He didnt want the crown, it was forced on him. Of course he is not good person, but after he becomes king and cant run away from his responsibilities anymore, he tries his best to be a good king and a better father to his chieldren. He is an antagonist to team black, but it is not the same as being a villain.

If Daemond is feeling any kind of guilt, I think that is Alyce trying to project the guilt she thinks he should feel. Daemond chopping off young Rahenra's head proves this. She is incompetent, she neglectes her council, she doesn't even make decisions and when she does they are bad, her council don't respect her. His humanity.” Implying that while Aegon is a meant to be a villain, Tom brings more humanity to him. That’s my interpretation, at least.
