Aemond vs Daemon - Character Analysis

Daemon is a very intriguing person the best part about him was the love he had for his brother and how no matter how much he wanted the throne he didnt wanted his brother dead to get it......even though he constantly undermined his brother rule and still had resentment for him. Not to mention daemon constant manipulation or grooming of rhaenyra constantly hurts her politically since he is everything what Otto said he was that Daemon would be a second Maegor. The thing is though with Aemond all of what he is is understandable given his treatment by his brother, father, and his nephews. Aemond is never the aggressor he only acts when he is confronted while daemon is the opposite. Whether its luke laughing at him or aegon embarrass him in front of people Aemond calculates his next move very strategically. Both men want the throne because they both see themselves better than their older brothers but how they achieve their power and how they started is completely different. Yup, Aemond is more disciplined, strategic and likely more honorable. He has yet to kill anyone intentionally, that did not deserve to die, or that was not involved in combat . Daemon on the other hand is a serial killer! Video forgot to mention the guy he killed at Driftmark to fake Laenors death!

@@ejoviu4911 i wont say that luke deserved to die maybe he deserved to be humiliated or take a beating but alot of who Aemond is and what he has become is not because he downright wanted the throne its because he wanted to have acceptance and approval to his obvious better personality.

I can relate with Aemond in a small way. Bullied as a child, but now he's the big man with biggest dragon, and everyone is like, "Dude, what's your problem?" 😂 Careful who you pick on as a kid, ya'll. Edit: People tell me that Aemond wants to be like Daemon, but I believe that Aemond wants to be BETTER than Daemon. There is a small line of respect between the two, even if they hate eachother, but that thread is very thin.

@@BeppyTurnip Yessss! Can relate too. Definitely be careful who ya pick on 😂 And I think so as well about Aemond wanting to be better. He quietly studies people. I think taking out Luc was a huge learning opportunity for him. Daemon is admirable but impulsive. Aemond is extremely measured And knows he can be a better Daemon. I think I watched the show primarily for just the two of them lol

Aemond is my favorite character. Aemond was treated wrong by his brother, nephews, parents and just about everyone else. He didn't take or still a dragon, he claimed her. He was jumped by his cousins and nephews and lost an eye. He father was more upset than he called his nephews, the Strong boys, bastards. Even at the last dinner by the family, his nephew laughed at him. I don't blame him for being the way he is, I suppose I relate with him. Daemon is just a horrible person, jealous of his brother, murdered his wife, tried to blank his niece, pays no attention to his children.

To be fair meleys and caraxes flying to kings landing was a good idea. Only vhagar was patrolling the skies it would take time for aegon to have come to help. Also we know aegon was no threat I think daemon and rhanys vs aemond and aegon would have resulted in an absolute black victory which is obviously why it didn't happen lol

I agree that it was a good plan - but though it technically wasn't "against" rhaenyra's commands since she didn't give any, it was still taking the reins in her absence. imo, rhaenyra is just as much to blame for daemon's ambition as he is (if you're indecisive and passive, people will find ways to be active in your stead), but a video on her coming this week :)

Weak stuff... whatever doesn't fit your narrative, you simply don't mention, or flat-out misrepresent what happened (e.g. "he/Daemon ran of on his own to deal with Triarchy", even though it was Corlys "enlisting" Daemon). All in all, very superficial analysis. Barely a -2 (that's equivalent of D-, passing out of pity).

I think the writers unintentionally made aemond a way more compelling character (and capable ruler) than rhaenyra.
