Some extra details I forgot to mention: Touma has to re-learn his purpose for living as hell has made him think its fine to be dead! I really like this theme of Touma’s character as its similar to to how he had to rediscover himself after losing his memories in OT1, and when he had to prioritise his own interests in NT9. He has to learn the value of living again. Also why the hell does 15 year old JVA have a beard that long? I thought the point of being a transcendent was that he chose to dress up as CRC, not look exactly the same way since he was a kid!

Bear with me Aeon as I try explain away some of your criticism: 1)How can Kingsford know that the hell was created by CRC and was fake to begin with? I agree with you that Kamachi shouldn't keep this information vague but i think for someone like Kingsford it kinda make sense at least. I mean think about it, if Hell can be easily be distorted by human perception then there is no point of keeping human soul in there as they can distort the structure of hell for their own conveniences. The fact rhat that Touma was able to affect Hell with his willpower pretty much give away that it was fake to begin with. For how Kingsford know that CRC created it, I felt like that is kinda obvious because he is the only one in the current time that can compete with her in terms of power and technique so her conclusion make sense. 2)Why Kingsford didn't tell Touma about CRC and his plan? It's because Kingsford respect Touma and his character as a whole. In GT 10 Touma express regret on how he fail to achieve a future where he and CRC can laugh together. Essentially, she is giving the chance for Touma to get to know CRC and understand him. This was proven in the final fight where she didn't step in to help Touma against CRC 3)When did CRC created the fake hell? This is just a theory but i think he created it after he got killed by Alice. The reason why he didn't use it the first time he die is because his old body probably no longer suitable for resurrection. The reason i think he was desperate this time is because the Transcendent already a create body a lot closer to the "real" CRC which allow him to draw more power. It's kinda similar to Saint being stronger in terms of physical and spirituality because their body are a lot closer to Jesus. In a simpler way, using your own body and flesh as a reference point for Idol Theory. 4)Why can Touma still use Imagine Breaker? I mean there was a couple times where IB are independent of it's physical form. For example, when Othinus take the concept of "Kamijou Touma" and give it to someone else, IB still stuck with our original Touma meaning the attachment are not purely physical. 5)Why can IB negate CRC magic now? This whole scene make a whole a lot of sense if you refer back to the Coronzon fight. When Coronzon was removed from her physical vessel, the Flaming Sword spell become weaker and was able to be nullified by Touma despite failing for the first time. Without the soul body harmony supporting CRC, his magic become weaker. All in all, I actually agree with your criticism. This to me felt like Kamachi outdated writing style is catching up to him so he thinks that a scene that work in the year 2005 can still work in 2024. Not only that, I think he grew TOO comfortable with his audience expecting them to piece all of those missing information on their own.

2. I like that theme now that you mentioned it 4. Yeah I had a think about that after editing this 5. Was it stated in the vol that his magic was weaker? Dont remember that. Unless its cos he's now using the qliphoth? But then again, he presumably used the qliphoth to create a brand new phase which is clearly a huge feat.

To my knowledge Dante Alighieri viewed Caesar pretty glowingly. He didn't really see him as a charismatic tyrant but rather representative of a strong and unified Rome, much in contrast to the Italy of the 13th-14th century. Thus Brutus and Cassius were given a place of special contempt in his fiction, I guess. Dante wasn't really one for morally grey complexity.

Also what's gonna happen to both Kingsford and CRC now that they fell into the real hell? I really like Kingsford as a character like I know she said in the volume like her age is over because she already died but I really want her back.

14:24 knowing how magic works, it’s probably because he can’t do it when he’s already in Hell. Only when he’s in between the two phases. While there? He pretty much puts his soul into a coma while his subconscious thoughts build the scenery of all sorts of Hell’s he recognized and mesh them together.
@TheBleachfan08
@TheBleachfan08 2 күн бұрын
I think the main issues with the volume has a lot to do with its length and the overall mood. It was much more light hearted than people expected. The page numbers were cut down several times as we got closer to the actual release. This hasn't happened before AFAIK so it seems like some deliberate effort was involved to make it this way. It feels to me like a very shortened version of NT 18. The lore was good but not enough, and the ecchi sequences stood out too much. Honestly it felt like since Anna's appearance in NT 22R, Kamachi just gave less and less fucks about the horniness in the ecchi segments. The boob mountain thing I can understand, but CRC shouting for a vag UFO abducting Touma blew me away entirely, it was borderline gross. In NT 18, a large part was Mina guiding Touma through the windowless building and Aleister's past. So I didn't mind Kingsford playing the role of sexy big sister guide just like Mina did, and Mina did just fine in NT 18, she's one of my favorites of all time. I would have liked to see a volume just between Touma and CRC, but it's a bit hard for me to imagine how things will go, since CRC has complete control over fake hell and Touma was completely helpless by himself. CRC would have been able to manipulate Touma as he saw fit, and there would be very little chance for Touma to be the one revived if CRC didn't have a change of heart somehow, which again would be very unlikely to happen with the massive information and power barrier between them. This isn't like NT 9 where they can do things over and over. CRC could have just ditched Touma and he would be lost in fake hell within 5 minutes, not knowing where to go. The problem is Kingsford is just too powerful while Mina was just a supportive AI. In the windowless building, Touma wasn't as helpless as he was in GT 11, which is understandable because this is a whole new phase. For better or worse, now Touma had to completely rely on Kingsford for anything they came across. I liked Kingsford's character as the powerful and virtuous mentor, but I felt like she just has to go sooner rather than later. Her acting as Touma's guide completely flipped the balance between him and CRC. Now Touma has the most amazing support imaginable and it was CRC that had to keep himself in check until there was just no hiding it anymore. Kingsford's involvement became like a deus ex machina (ironically her corpse is basically a machine after Aleister's tinkering), so I am glad she went out in style at least and I hope we don't see her again, at least not for a very long time. Since her appearance in GT 6, her involvement just trivializes too many things and takes away too much tension. With Kingsford there, you know Touma can't go wrong, and even if CRC was on equal footings with her, Touma just has too much of an advantage because that would make him the deciding factor when they cancel each other out. It would be like if a magic god gave Touma full support against NT 9 Othinus. Kamachi himself said he choose for this volume to have a light hearted mood, picnic style, which was why Kingsford was there and that was what we got. This again links back to how Kingsford relieving so much of the tension. Like you and many others, I also preferred for this volume to be more serious like NT 18, which is why I also had gripes about the final fight against CRC being under-explained and a bit too comical, especially with Kingsford oneshotting Lucifer/Satan offscreen and preventing CRC fusing with it. For this reason, one of my favorite parts of this volume was Touma struggling on the staircase at the very end. His powerful guide is now gone, he has no one to rely on except himself, and he is learning firsthand how difficult it is for a dead person to live again. It calls back to what Kingsford said in the start of the volume, how it would be extremely painful like a person choosing to drown themselves willingly. But by that point the book was already coming to a close, so the excitement for that part fizzled away too quickly. What we got for CRC was good as well and I liked the way he went out. Again Kamachi was fully aware of himself doing this, to me that's slightly better than things being "unintentionally funny" and ruining the mood. Though if the author is fully aware of his decisions, I feel like he should be aware of the reception his decisions will have. In the end. with Kingsford there, Touma being the helpless puppy wasn't entirely unimaginable, and CRC pouring oil to the flame with the horniness can be explained as part of his ruse to try and drive a wedge between Kingsford and Touma, Touma himself acknowledges this as well. So all in all, the way GT 11 went wasn't entirely unthinkable, but understandably many people expected a bit more including myself, and we didn't get it, which is part of the disappointment. I would have liked for more background on Kingsford especially. The "twist" that she was always good isn't bad, but it does make her a bit one dimensional. Like Kamachi said, people likes to think there's a darker side to anyone because that's more exciting.

16:16 gonna guess it’s because Kingsford and Johann’s view of Hell is more absolute. Meanwhile Touma’s view of hell is more vague than actual hell. Remember. With views, interpretations and ideas when using magic. two ideas from one myth doesn’t eliminate 1 idea from another if they’re both related. They mix. It only cancels out if they aren’t related or connected in any way. Like a sword and a bowling ball.

I can understand now how a bunch of people in the fandom feels about her. First she fails to give him the cookies that she made and then she goes and gets a ring for him, and yet, she doesn't give it to him. Also, am I right in saying that Birdway only rescued him because she needed him as a tool. That sucks. I love this story and I can't stop thinking about it. The President is crazy. If Touma still can even use Imagine Breaker even in Hell. That will certainly will ended up become controversial for sure. (It messed up the lore of Imagine Breaker) to me the fact it wasn't a real hell is okay since its impossible for author to write something that can't be imagine like how we can't imagine how Heaven look. Still, author actually can take advantage of hell to forshadow new future villain while make hell story not feel like a happy go lucky place. Its okay for Anna to be there, its also okay for CRC to be with them but its not gonna be satisfying story if the plot is just a straightforward about running out from Hell. Story in hell is supposed to be about accepting his death. Not about searching a way to be revive. Furthemore, they make stupid plot like had to search a key to be reborn. Since when there's a way to be revive inside the hell itself? if it does exist, where are the other Hell resident that want to be revive as well. The story is more make sense if he was revive as a result of other people effort trying to revive him.

GT11 is what I would call Kamachi's Divine Comedy. In this case, however, it's more apt to call this KAMACHI COMEDY because it really shows Kamachi's style of comedy throughout the volume. GT11 is not what I would call a great volume. It has problems for sure, mainly from the idea of hell itself. -The Fake Hell is supposed to be JVA's understanding of Catholic Hell popularized by Dante Alighieri showing how much the work influenced the religion even if it was fictional. It also coincides with the idea of how JVA's fake Rosicrucian Movement affected how a lot of people started believing his prank. It's a bit of a deep cut, but it can be interpreted that way. - It was hinted at the end that both Kingsford and JVA have yet to experience Hell even tho they died already. Someone speculated that the Kingsford we know is not the real Kingsford, but the conscience born from the Preserved Corpse and CRC apparently created the artificial hell when he died the first time(?) and was there until he was resurrected at the end of GT8(?). Point being, both have yet to actually go through hell and the things they explained during GT11 seems like bullshit they only learned from theoretical papers. So yeah it's a bit confusing. - IB working in hell is because it is fake hell...but yeah it's weird. It has been hinted how IB transcends the physical, but it makes me question when IB truly transfers to someone else. Maybe once the soul truly dies and goes through real hell that IB goes somewhere else? Dunno. -I doubt we would see real hell because it does look like once someone goes through it, there's no turning back and can't resurrect, which is why Kingsford took Touma away before he could go there and brought him to CRC's Hell to delay that. -Ending is hinting something interesting at least because it makes you question what bull Kamachi will pull in terms of bringing Touma back to life. New Body? Old Body? Ghost Body? We really don't know. Edit: To add, this is probably the horniest Touma has ever been in the series, and he's technically dead. I guess the death of his physical body has unleashed the perverted beast within? Dunno.

My opinion about GT11 being too short and linear still holds, and I yearn for Kingsford's backstory... In fact, had she truly been written into a sinner, along the lines of _the road to hell is paved with good intentions_ I would probably be singing Kamachi's praises right now. But sadly she hasn't. And apart from CRC's wrap-up we did not get any major developments. There's nothing new about Touma's character (even his fantasies) : it's simply the logical next step of what we saw in NT9, only this time after he already made the jump. So this volume stays average for me. Still, anyone who cares enough about the series to read this far won't look down on the average volume. The simple fact that Kamachi didn't make any random leaps in logic or screw up the narration has to be appreciated. Side glance to GT5. This is fine for a between the lines focused on Touma. What I truly want to see is a volume without him. And since we have an opportunity for a soft reset I hope it can be meaningful, ie not a return to his dorm room as usual by the end of GT12. We have now ran out of antagonists. Quick, find a new secret cabal for the next ten LNs!

Wow, this sounds like a bit of a short hand mess. The story continues to be interesting, and a always plenty of going on, it sounds like a lot of things were not completely thought out. Or at least not on the readers side of the story telling. Almost like it was a little rushed. I do love the fact though that Touma is thinking about himself and doing things for his benefit. It is nice to see him not always thinking about everyone else but him. Touma's self sacrifice or suffering is not always a must if we want to keep things on a human perspective. I suspect, though I may be wrong, a lot of the open ended stuff will be explained better. At least we are getting the continuation of the main story line. I also feel fan service is important, but not always needed. It sounds to me, while have something pretty / attractive to look at is always nice it is totally not necessary to write a good story or plot, much less be a vehicle to dress up the story and make it better since the story line is lacking. There is a time and place for everything. If a story can't stand on its' own without added fan service, then the story deserves more work and so do the fans. Thanks for the interesting perspectives.
