Great vid, Aaron! I really can’t disagree with any of your analysis here: I love the ACPP, but BSEP really kills it in looks. From an accessibility POV, they’re also roughly equal, which is why I would still give the nod towards ACPP in most use cases (except digital content creators), on basis of weight, value for dollar, and overall friendliness of design for daily living. Sometimes, over-engineering leads to finickiness in a way that is less accessible; I get that vibe pretty strong with the BSEP.

Totally agree with you Ryan. The BSEP is a masterpiece, but at the end of the day it’s more complicated, and most ppl aren’t looking for an overly-technical backpack

Just did a short weekend trip with the Errant Pro (I own the errant as well) - worked well for me with a few compression packing cubes, and I'm using the Boundary Supply port kit for my Dopp. Was able to get my extra clothes (minimally packed) and some technical goodies for the 2-night trip. I have an Aer Day Sling 2 which I love as well - but one note being in Canada, Boundary Supply's delivery system I never get charged duty on my purchases - but I did with my Aer sling. Just something to keep in mind. I do love Aer's minimal style and almost bought one of their travel bags, but already having some Boundary stuff, I was happy with the quality and- service I have had over my purchases so stuck with them :)

Great video, personally i prefer the comfort of the boundary supply over that of the Aer, you compared it to a mattress which is a great comparison, if you’re heavy you’ll need a harder, stiffer mattress to support the body better. The same goes for the backpack, with 30L you can and sometimes will pack heavy! With the boundary supply backpacks you never experience discomfort from carrying heavy loads. Currently i’m travelling Thailand with my wife and 2 year old and my beloved Prima, which is packed to the max. Man you almost won’t even know it is there and thats without using the waist band. The soft cushion materials of the Aer are compressed to the max and dig into the shoulders. Soooo, what i’m trying to say, boundary should have won that one

to each their own! Like I said, you cannot go wrong with either pack, they are both brilliant, it just comes down to personal preference. Glad to hear you love the Prima so much - its a very underrated pack

@@Nomads.Nation i agree, i wish they had integrated the pack long zipper of the prima in the new errant pro. That zipper is the most convenient thing in a backpack with a rol up top.

IT professional here. Been EDCing the Aer City Pack Pro and I love love love it. I thought I wouldn't like it at all, but turns out if carries so amazingly well, looks great, has organization in all the right places. Reminds me an urban 5.11 Rush12.

Does it stay compressed when empty? Its the same depth as the TP3S but without compression straps. Wonder if that’s too deep, especially when fully loaded for travel.

Hell yeah, what a vid, Aaron! As an ACPP owner, I was happy to see it won. I definitely see the attraction to the BEP as it seems like super durable, decent bag but for me, it has too much hoo ha. I also don't feel it would look as good in an office setting or a conference visit (my two main places for carrying a bag, with the odd trip to the supermarket). Aesthetically, I think the Modern Dayfarer comes closer to the BEP? I would choose the Modern Dayfarer over the BEP. But hey, it's so cool to see that we all have different tastes in backpacks! I own both, for features and look, no hassle I will choose Errant Pro. However if you are a bit sick or don't have enough sleep or even after a long meeting/walking/shopping, the weight of Errant Pro will kill you.

Aer City Pack Pro vs Tom Bihn (Techonaut or Addax): Battle of the Mattress Experience! I think it would seriously be a close one... Personally, I have the Aer Travel Pack 2, The Bihn Techonaut 30, and an Addax in either size. I think my pick would go to the Techonaut, but either way Tom BIhn and Aer will be throwing hands til the final round!

Amazing vid Aaron, I was actually considering which one to get! Even though the Aer edged it here, this video made me want Errant Pro even more. I think the Aer looks better in the Travel Pack 3 version (which looks like the city pack pro) as it's bigger and that's where minimalism is important, whereas the Errent pro looks far cooler for an EDC option. Question - are the shoulder straps for the Errant Pro softer than the original errant?
@Nomads.Nation

Thanks dude! Glad it helped you make a decision. And no, I’d say the straps are just as course (but durable) as the original

love the BS Errant Pro, but not sure why designers do not make bags that can stand up on their own. Evergoods CTB, CPL bags are unbelievable, wish they made a camera backpack.
@Nomads.Nation
@Nomads.Nation Жыл бұрын
in my experience it's because bags that stand up by themselves don't look as sexy as bags that don't. This is because to make a bag stand up by itself, it needs to have a flatter bottom, which by comparison is nowhere near as aesthetically pleasing as a bottom that is more rounded.

In real world usage, the aer city pack pro is the winner. The errant pro is over-engineered and too heavy. It is too idealistic but not as practical.
