I remember meeting Michael in Tulsa at a concert at the Brady Theater. He had recently graduated from Phillips University and his music professor accompanied him on the grand piano. Brilliant talent who is still sorely missed. Years later, I did a homemade weather observation video using this soundtrack to track the afternoon build up of cumulus, cumulonimbus and squall lines. Once the severe Wx passed I used "Rickover's Dream", to show outdoor Wx instruments (shelter), radiosond launches and Torcon functions.

Michael is smiling. I'm amazed. You captured the finest nuance of this piece. Absolutely beautiful.

The string stopping is the hardest part of this piece. The most noticeable part of playing this is STOPPING the strings from sounding! Welcome to the genius of Michael Hedges

Michael would be so glad that his intuitive style has interested people such as your self to learn it! I hope you will continue more of his unabridged should we say, style of playing. I heard he got kicked out of, or got fed-up with Julliard, because they wouldn't let him expand on theories? And I hope you are playing this for other people, live somewhere, so they too may be inspired, because you are obviously good at it! 👏👍

Brilliant . . . a fair share of covers of this one don't honor Michael's tempo, but you do that along with the rest of the brilliance.

This is so accomplished. Michael would be proud. This song has always penetrates my soul in a way only philharmonic orchestras normally can. Somehow MH managed it with a guitar, and you've perfectly played it for us here. Many many thanks Mark

I usually cringe when I hear a Hedges cover, because.... you know.... I'm picky, but this was very acceptable. Really, really good in parts. Damn. It must be fun to feel and hear this coming out of yourself.

Holy Fuck, this is a good cover. You and Andrew Gorny have the best Hedges covers, but yours is a little better

Very precise. Impressively played, I appreciate the lack of reverb because it removes any safety net to the sound.
@chrisdevine3511 Жыл бұрын
The Stropes book is the best. Andrew Gorney is also a big help. But his one? No. I’m not even close on this one. Maybe by the time I’m 80🤣

Sounds pretty good.. I met Andrew Gorny when he was playing on the streets near Pioneer Square in Portland, Oregon. I was riding my bike downtown and all of a sudden I hear live Michael Hedges music blasting through the air out of a small speaker, I look and see Andrew playing this song... I was blown away on how well he played Michael's music. I miss those days... I think Andrew lives in Greece now.
