Hanley is dead now like most of Stoke on Trent. Yes we have the standard shopping centres and loads of carparks like evry other town and city. But we have nothing in the way of small independent businesses and entertainment arcades in the town centre like we used to have because the lease holding on the empty shops are way to high. Theres nothing in the centre of Hanley or even Longton and Burslem that would really make people want to go and shop around and have a nice time. Its just dead!

You should go to other cities like Leeds, Derby, Nottingham you will find its the same there grime and crime drunks and druggies.

I was born in this area and am really shocked by the monstrous new buildings! Nice to see a few hidden gems still there but so sad to see so many historic buildings gone:(

Surely you would not want to keep derelict buildings and empty land? What monstrous new buildings are you on about? Other cities have 30 years more new buildings.
