These guys are the best precision commercial pilots in the world! Flying low & slow with a load on is WAY harder than flying high & fast!

Memories of the 80's for me. We had three of these planes. I was either loading them, or flagging the fields. We used to pray they'd hit some rain on the way back in, so we wouldn't have to scrub the bugs off of the wings

Loved watching an old boy in a Grumman AgCat years ago in the Kimberly. I don't think anything would've stayed with him down low level.

how do they keep track of whats been sprayed and not sprayed ?
@airailimages7 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure it is by GPS today; back in the day, a flagger would stand at the end of the row, and move over after each pass. Then, around the 1970s, a company called Automatic Flagman made a dispenser that would release a biodegradable paper streamer at the end of each pass, fluttering to the ground to act as a marker. And way back, on low crops like peas, some duster pilots would actually touch the ground with their wheels to mark where they had been (!)

Ryan O'Connell, are you talking about higher visibility for the pilot? It is bright sunlight. lol

Be surprised how easy that bright yellow bird disappears. I'd imagine it's a lot busier there in the states too as to what we're used to here in Australia.

Visibility for OTHER pilots. So other pilots can see HIS aircraft more easily.
