Welcome to Elizabethtown, PA, a borough in Lancaster County and home to over 11,000 residents. The town was established in 1753 and named after the wife of Captain Barnabas Hughes. Elizabethtown officially became a borough in 1827 as railroads and other industry descended on the area. Known primarily for agriculture until the early 1900’s when several shoe factories and the Klein Chocolate company (Now the Mars Company) setup shop. On our Aerial tour of E-Town you’ll see the Mars/Dove Chocolate Factory, the White Oak Mills plant, The Lofts of Savoy (originally a shoe factory), The Amtrak station, Elizabethtown College (established in 1899), Herr’s Mill Covered Bridge, Masonic Village and The Star Barn. Each year the town holds an annual fair to celebrate local agriculture. The fair has been going on for over 40 years and takes place each August.
