I visited Lafayette area after Thanksgiving and enjoyed seeing the cane fields and harvesters just like the ones in your videos. I saw a Deere harvester in action near Thibodaux, a sugar mill at Raceland. Also lots of trucks hauling cane on Hwy 90. Thanks for posting all of your videos.

Looks like it is able to harvest the cane at about the same speed as the single row harvesters do. Some very nice shots and footage. Enjoyed every minute of it 👍

Is it on 6 foot rows or 8? It looks like the tractor is set at 12 feet.

It will regrow again. But farmers usually replant after a few years.. But I have seen some who harvested the same cane after 7 or more

That apparatus over the head doesn't seem to perform any function.

That is the topper. It cuts and discards the green tops, but only if the cane is standing straight
