Aerobic system bleach chlorinator - no more tablets

This is an LBC500 chlorinator used to disinfect waste water. It uses household bleach instead of tablets. This video is for reference only.

Hello, when you buy the kit does it come with the y connector and threaded parts that attach in the effluent tank?

When you buy the kit at a aerobic supply house, it will come with everything you need, less the 4” pipe which you would buy separately.

I have the same system but when the pump is running it doesn’t seem to be drawing any bleach. If I pull the clear tube out and put it into bleach there is definitely suction, but when it’s in the little gray pipe nothing seems to be drawn up. Can’t seem to get a response from the manufacturer. Thoughts?

Did you ever figure this out ? I don’t think mine is using bleach either. It used to I was putting bleach in often but I haven’t had to put any in awhile.

How does that small clear tube bent up inside the inner tube work? I think mine was like that, but I thought that's not right and I pulled it out and just fed it straight down. Now it's sucking down bleach like you won't believe, so I bent it back and put it the way it was. Should it be bent in there like that? How does it control the flow?

That small tube is just a wedge to hold the large suction tube in place. If you still have it, just stuff it back in. I have my tube set just a little pulled out. My tube doesn't go all the way to the bottom. You can pull yours out a little bit. You will have to wait a few days to check your chlorine level and adjust.

Mine isn't using bleach either, must be plugged up. Did you notice if there is an orifice in the gray tube that I should clean?

Not sure. Might need a new one. But you should hear it sucking when the pump is on. Check the tubing and make sure it’s submerged in the bleach.

We had a septic for over a year and didn’t know we had to put bleach in it. What would happen if we never put bleach in it?

Mine holds about 2 1/2 gallons. The bleech drains super fast, I would say we fill every other day. How do I slow down the suction of the bleech?

Which model is it? Is this a new install? The one in the video, you have to wedge the suction hose either in or out in small adjustments. Ha

I would turn the field pump on so your heads are running, pull out the vinyl tubing until it stops sucking the bleach. Then put it back in until it starts showing bleach flowing. But not too much.

It’s a system you buy from a septic supply company. I cant remember how much. Just buy your 4” pipe.

How do you know if tab or bleach system? My lid doesn’t have a chlorine label like that

Are you in Texas? The tabs will be in the green lid. It will have drain holes.

What about if you septic tank is concrete?

As far as I know, concrete tanks are used is a conventional system. The aerobic system I have is poly tanks and the bleach treats the holding tank.

@@karlmielke3922 My system uses sprinklers and aerator. But doesnt have chlorinator. My septic guy says to drop those tablets into the pump tank. I'm wondering if this bleach chlorinator would work with my system? Drilling through concrete would be problematic, though.

Call your septic supply. They sell the chlorinators (LBC Manufacturing is the brand I used.) Mine is is Texas so you might check your state regulation on them.

The 4 ft pvc is only attached to the "t" and the other end has a cap. It's used to hold the bleach. It can be 8 ft if you want it to hold more bleach. They inspected min and it passed the chlorine test.

How old is your unit? Did you check the Venturi in the holding tank?

I have replaced the Y valve and all of the tubing. If I open the valve to far it pushes water from the septic into my bleach tube and I never can adjust so I feel suction on the end of the tube. I am not sure what a Venturi is.
