Now imagine situation where some random tuning shop redesigns front bumper in its backyard garage and all cooling and aerodynamic concepts are disrupted.. And all of this just for the sake of looks alone :)

@@mikeslayaaa Well you are right to some extent, but only in terms of looks. BMW heritage is not looks only, it's the technical chracteristics - simply best handling cars on a street with good (powerful) engine combo. The word has seen a lot of powerful cars or a lot of excellent handling cars with underpowered engines, but no one did that combo so succesful like bmw did. And now suddenly fans give a middle finger to their beloved car only because it looks bad. There is more concern for me like weight, but it's debatable.

Finally use for portrait video when he was under the car with the CFD picture above! Clearly didn't do smoke testing on the rear of the one series, vortex mode attracts dirt there better than a hoover! These new machines are really big and really serious I think their performance will be incredible. Whether they're accessible and fun for the average buyer on the road is the question.

Hello BMW: These videos are amazing! Just dont make vertical please. Also, as a serious potential buyer, the front Grille is just not attractive at all!!!!! On the positive side, this Grille will help you sell more M3/4 from past years to us though. Also, please keep making manuals (stick shift) and soft tops. Sincerely a proud owner of e46 zhp soft top.

The new design, as it was explained in a video by an M car enthusiast on their KZbin channel, also pays homage to earlier BMW designs. As an example, if you look up "1939 BMW 328 Roadster" you see some images of the models with very large grills. Some Taller & more narrow, others, flatter & wider. These news ones, in someways are a modern take to their own throwback designs. Like you, I wasn't digging it at first, but I admit they're growing on me slightly in certainly colors only. Like full black where it's less prominent but adds an almost menacing quality to the car. But in other colors, I'm not a fan. I pray they don't put it on the M5. They didn't put it on the 2021. Thank God! Ha ha ha Grill aside, these are great cars!

I dont like buying black cars tho I prefer bright colors. im hoping the huge blowback makes them decrease its size it in the next face uplift. If im paying this much for a car I want to love every inch, and this grill is the only part I have a problem with

@@nbaumg I fully appreciate what you're saying. These powerful BMWs aren't cheap & most who even consider any M model expect to be, & rightly should be, thoroughly pleased with their purchase. I'm guessing that there will be a revision of the grill going forward. The response to it hasn't been favorable by a majority of enthusiasts; many of whom even discussing the prospect of making after market alterations. It was a bold move on BMW's part, but bolder isn't always better when it comes to aesthetics.

Minute 8:30: "Downforce is reduced"? I thought the goal is to increase downforce. Glaube die deutsche Originalstimme spricht auch von "Auftrieb wird reduziert".

Downforce is reduced evenly from front and back. Probably for even flow of pressure around the car.

Ist mir auch aufgefallen. Ich denke es geht darum die Strömungsgeschwindigkeit entlang des Unterbodens konstant zu halten, damit die korrespondierende Druckverteilung gleichmäßig bleibt und damit an vorder- und hinterachse der gleiche Abtrieb generiert wird

Downforce is drag, but what is really annoying is that it's actually lift. Lift acts laterally and "upside down" as well. When you take off in your airplane, the wings obviously generate lift but so does the rear elevator...only it develops lift toward the ground thus acting like a lever and lifting the front of the plane up.

Yeah, their marketing is designed for mobile users. They’re vertically filming a product whose proportions are primarily on the horizontal plane. It’s a deliberate ineptitude.

what ever you do BMW, you can not sell this car design to me, I waited for it, and end up purchasing the M5 LCI, with a more sensible front grills
