Expert mode is absolutely insane, if Aero Gauge wasn't cruel enough!

And that's not even trying with any of the fragile machines like the Hornet (which are insane to race with in Intermediate/Expert because a few bumps and your machine is dead). Thanks for coming by! Always a surprise to see people watching my AeroGauge runs after a while :)

Wait, what? How did I not know about this game?

I do have to wonder how did you find out about it right now lol (I used to own it for Nintendo 64 almost 15 years ago, only to have given it away and then spending a few years with foggy memories of it until I rediscovered it online. But it wouldn't be until this year where I actually learned to play it :p)

0:11 I always loved how the machine leans down like an athlete runner. But I do recall becoming pretty alright in Expert mode... Should post some gameplay myself.

Would love to watch some of your runs whenever you get down to it; haven't played this in a while but it is always cool to find someone that also throws their hat into this almost barren ring (huge props to the Speedrun.com players for documenting the strats I learned for these runs) And yeah, it is cool that it looks like that, doubling like a visual cue to know you're doing the rocket boost right which might as well be mandatory to win races without struggling too much with how every other machine also blasts off immediately without fail.

Its been so long since I've looked at this game. I do have to ask, for memories sake. Going close to the ground was never advantageous right? It was always flying that was the most beneficial?
@ArcadeStriker Жыл бұрын
Hey there! Haven't played in a while as well, but if I remember right... As far as I know, going close to the ground itself would make you have much less speed than when in the air, so normally it isn't good. I probably described this in the description but, if you do the drift boosts on a sloped ground though, you can tap B to cancel the heat rise of the boost WITHOUT losing the speed boost. So I'd say that it was indeed detrimental, unless you were aiming for the slope boost trick to get a free boost without the heat penalty, which is useful for machines that have average to high heating when boosting; specially the Hornet (and an unlockable machine that ALWAYS overheats to the max with a single boost unless you cancel it).

@ArcadeStriker Жыл бұрын
Buenas!

How do i unloked all secret ships
@ArcadeStriker Жыл бұрын
You have to complete Grand Prix in Intermediate or Expert with certain machines. From what I remember, Interceptor does not unlock anything, but the rest do if you do so. The only exception is that unlocking the N64 Control Pad isn't completely clear or confirmed (the one source that tried to unlock it which was an Aerogauge speedrunner talking about the unlocks didn't manage to get the already seemingly ridiculous unlock condition to work), so that one you might want to use a cheat code to unlock; otherwise it is pretty simple in concept to unlock these...just that getting it done with some machines like the Hornet or Black Lightning is indeed tough...
