Besides all the great stuff you mentioned, you also get automatically Star Alliance silver status for the rest of the year that you applied on and the year after. plus two Maple Leaf Lounge passes. the 3X Groceries was the reason that I applied for this card , after reading terms and conditions I realized I had a Gem in my arsenal of cards. Great video very nice how you break it down some it is easy to see your point of view on this card. Which seems like am excellent card now on my radar. One think I am not too clear on is the travel pay yourself back seems great but the card itself only get 1 x on travel except for purchase with air Canada airline, so is the sapphire reserve better in that it gives you 3x on travel and a 50% boost? Help me better understand this point?

@Phamily1st There are other Chase cards that are better earner cards. So you would use the Sapphire Reserve or Preferred or any other Chase card, then transfer your Chase Ultimate Rewards points to your Aeroplan account during a transfer bonus to take full advantage of the pay yourself back benefit on travel purchases with your Areoplan card.

Only thing stopping me from having the Aeroplan card on my radar is the uncertainty of how long they will have the PYB feature. Outside of that though, it's a great card. It also gives you complimentary 25k status for two years which gives you seat upgrades, priority check in, priority boarding, and two lounge passes. If you also know how to work through the Star Alliance partners award availability, it's a no brainer card imo especially when it comes time to take advantage of a transfer bonus,

Aeroplan points have some of the cheapest costs for award bookings. They also have so many partners, so you probably won't have an issue getting to where you want redeeming your aeroplan points

Areoplan has been doing a transfer bonus with Chase once a year.

The 10% transfer bonus of this card pays for itself. 3x at supermarkets are also great, especially in the early game. Further, I believe that the aero plan points don’t expire, if one has this card, but not 100% sure. The star alliance silver status is in my opinion not valuable, at least not for my flying style.

So this is really dependent on already having other Chase cards, plus whenever they have transfer bonuses. Kinda a roll of the dice. I don’t think it’s a viable long term option. However, maybe this is a better value with Capital One or Amex, essentually turning those points from 1CPP to 1.25CPP?

I get out of 5/24 jail in January. If this PYB program is extended, I'm in. The DVC loan principle only payments code as travel with Chase. I'd gladly cash out 250k Chase UR rewards at 1.625 CPP if I could PYB in in paying for a DVC contract.

I wouldn't say go all in. I transferred 100k Chase Ultimate Rewards points to my aeroplan account during a 20% transfer bonus (plus another 10% for having the card). After hitting the welcome offer, I will have over 200k aeroplan miles.

I got the Aeroplan the first day it opened. The two 50K certs got me Business lie flats IAH-YYZ-AMS with e-certs roundtrip, all for $95. I might get it again.
