Great reaction! Most people don't know much of 70s Aerosmith beyond their greatest hits like "Sweet Emotion", "Walk This Way", and "Dream On", etc, but their incredibly prolific, old B-sides have a lot amazing Gems: stuff like this, Lord of the Thighs, One Way Street, Nobody's Fault are fire, and definitely worth reacting to! (Live performances from the era obviously are going to have some minor sound quality issues, but in return you get to see the rock and roll pantheon-level stage presence of the band, especially the Toxic Twins, Joe Perry and Steven Tyler.)

A lot of people think that this was an original song by Aerosmith, when in fact it is just a cover. But just like their other cover songs they made it their own. "Train Kept A-Rollin'" (or "The Train Kept A-Rollin'") is a song first recorded by American jazz and rhythm and blues musician Tiny Bradshaw in 1951.

Omg!! He’s soooo young in this video. This is actually a cover of a cover though. It’s an old blues song that the yardbirds covered, then Aerosmith covered their cover. Aerosmith has a lot of old blues cover mixed in with their own great stuff. And even though the sound is old it still sounds so much better than so many of todays bands playing live! And I agree that he has one the most amazing voices in rock!

I had already seen Aerosmith in concert (my first concert as a 14 year old kid) before this TV performance. You are right, Jamal, they were at their peak - I would idenify that as from the Get Your Wings album (1974) through Rocks (1976), with a reprise in 1987’s Permanent Vacation. That just my opinion, I will be 63 years old soon and sold music and promoted concerts from 1988 to 2002. Younger people will surely have a different perspective. Thank you Jamal!

The song was a huge hit, and became known for its epic guitar solo! But neither Joe Perry, nor Brad Whitford, played the solo on this song. Legendary session guitarists Steve Hunter and Dick Wagner were the actual culprits behind this amazing solo.
@nunyabusiness50759 ай бұрын
I thank producer Jack Douglas for bringing in some serious talent for this song, (even if it was just from next door). Joe and Brad eventually improved, but early 70's they even had problems just copying what Hunter and Wagner had laid down in the studio. That studio version might have been Jack Douglas throwing a serious wake up call to Joe and Brad that they need to up their game, but more likely Jack knew that Hunter and Wagner could deliver in less than a day what Joe and Brad couldn't at that time.

The studio version of Train Kept a Rollin on the "Get Your Wings" album is off the charts insanely great! Also, this song is a remake from 1965 or 1966 with the The Yardbirds. First band Jimmy Page was in. The video is on YT as well. The Yardbirds original of this song was inserted as a scene in a 60's British movie called "Blow-Up." That scene is hilarious, but very British underground club for the 60's. Also on YT (the scene)

That's what I'm talking about! My Brother Jamal keeping great music alive! I subscribed yrs ago when you were jamming music reactions exclusively! I still watch the Mr. Ballen, I watch you with the family (which is cool but, it hasn't been _music_ reactions!) . Bro, I was watching KZbin (Patty Smyth and "Scandal" doing "The Warrior" which is a fun little rock pop 80s song and you just can't have a sexier, smokier, more beautiful raspy voice then Patty Smyth Brother Jamal! I'd like a reaction to that but, in any case KZbin auto played 1 of your reaction videos from just a year ago.... some "Skid Row" with "I Remember You" and listening to you talk about the passion in the singing and the lyrics, while siitin' there sporting a "Keep Great Music Alive" Tshirt I thought "Dang, I remember the reason I subscribed now! It was this sort of thing! Like chilin' with a friend and talking about the song and the message....how it reminds us of our own lives and relationships and common humanity" and I thought Jamal is changing and I'm not sure I like it 🤔 I love you brother Jamal but, man it's nice to see you react to a great band and a great song (Train Kept a Rollin') is said to be the VERY FIRST SONG LED ZEPPELIN EVER PLAYED TOGETHER!) and reacting during, gettin' excited and rewinding to hear Stephen do his thing... I'm like "There he goes, back reacting to music! My Man!" That's what got this particular train rollin' in the first place! You know you wouldn't have nearly a million subscribers if you started our reacting to all the other stuff Brother (or maybe 🤔 you are kinda charismatic and super positive, a good human....but nah 🤣 it's the music that won me over man! We all love you at this point so we watch right along with you no matter what it is but I was sad after watching the Skid Row video. I'm glad you haven't completely abandoned the music brother, that's all I'm sayin'! I love you brother and I'm gonna' roll witcha' regardless but, why not react to at least 1 song for every 2 of the other stuff (at least 1) Please check out the Scandal song "The Warrior" just for kicks. Take a suggestion from Stan in Miami my brother.... make me happy! Or react to Led Zeppelin "Since I've been Lovin' You" from Madison Square Garden. From the movie "The Song Remains The Same" ...tell em' Stan sent you and it won't get blocked. I saw this Opera singer who reacts to Rock songs do it (The Charismatic Voice is her channel) but, she may be cuter than you my brother but, she ain't you! I'm just sayin' if _she_ didn't get blocked you won't either! If you react to her reacting that'd be insane (but that's not a bad idea if you want to do a 40 minute video because hers are like a half hour long 😂) I love you brother and like I said I'm gonna' watch whatever you put out here , just a few thoughts on the evolution of this channel man, nothin' more! ✌️❤️🎸🎶🤣🙏

Pink Floyd is kinda one of those bands in a slightly different kinda way. 99% of their stuff is fire, but the stuff/versions you don't hear on the radio are just as good if not better sometimes. When it comes to Aerosmith, I'm not a huge fan because I don't care for half the things they play on the radio. I can do without Walk This Way, Dude Looks Like a Lady, Back in the Saddle Again, and so on and so forth. They are also most famous for their ballads in a way. I'm not complaining since I do love Don't Wanna Miss a Thing, Crazy, Cryin', etc. All that being said, this is fire and if I woulda heard this first I woulda become a much bigger advocate for them.
