Bryan just gutted my garage bought a air compressor, a plastic tank from a company close to me. Looking forward to doing your online class. Got a paint gun not the best but good for starting up. I ran a thriving transmission business for fifteen years. So I will model my start up as with my prior business.

You mentioned not cleaning the activator out of your gun. Does that not mess with your gun or dry out the activator at all? I’m going to be storing mine around 65-75° year round depending on the season. It’s staying in my garage which is attached and insulated, but not truly climate controlled (doesn’t really feel like it needs to be in the North Georgia mountain region).
@LiquidConceptsUSA4 жыл бұрын
Yes that is correct. We keep our activator in our gun all the time and we never have any issues. Our shop even gets around 95+ in the summer so its quite hot and it still stays good with everything. One thing to make sure though is that you have a quality gun. If you have a very cheap gun, they will have cheap o-rings and such and the activator may start to mess them up compared to a quality gun that has better o-rings that are made for solvents.

Hello guys I'm just starting with this. Would like to get a compressor down the road using aerosol for now. I was thinking I have a hand pump presureizer that I have wax and grease remover in. Would something like that work for gallon activator?
@LiquidConceptsUSA5 жыл бұрын
It may work but depending on how the sprayer works, it may not give the best results when trying to spray it. You may be better off using an aerosol can at the moment until you get an air compressor.
@josephczelusniak49615 жыл бұрын
Ya aerosol working good for now

How often do you clean the gun? Also do you have any videos regarding the clear coat?
@LiquidConceptsUSA5 жыл бұрын
We actually never clean the activator gun unless its actually spraying bad which is very rarely. For clear coating, please see this link - kzbin.info/www/bejne/oniqdqiVndpoeJo

dear Bryan I watched your video It was about if this did not work HOW TO FIX A BAD HYDRO DIP did not work then I think I should only sand and then immediately spray the base coat over it again? With aerosol / no more primer? ? before I want to apply the base coat again? I understood this correctly! This is my question Kind regards Han from the Netherlands

Does humidity have a factor on setup a dip tank and activator??
@LiquidConceptsUSA5 жыл бұрын
It doesnt have that much of a factor on activator but it greatly affects the film and makes it quite hard to lay film down into the water when its very humid outside.
@charlesdriggers1995 жыл бұрын
My shop is small. I am a gunsmith that does hydrographics as another revenue stream. Does The activator break down over time? I know the film will go bad if not used, so I do not buy it in bulk, but if the activator was to stay would not lose strength I would buy it in greater quantities.
@LiquidConceptsUSA5 жыл бұрын
Normally we tell all of our customers that activator will stay good around 1 year from the time it was purchased. Sometimes it can be longer but most of the time, that is about the life expectancy of almost any activator.
@charlesdriggers1995 жыл бұрын
@@LiquidConceptsUSA Could you also tell me what the life of the film is? People do not know or understand that the film also has a shelf life. have had some that I have used more than one more time only to try again and have it not work.
@LiquidConceptsUSA5 жыл бұрын
Its very hard to say an exact number as it really depends on how the film is stored and such things but most of the time you can get years of great use out of it before it may go bad. On the flip side if its stored improperly then you may only get months out of it.
@charlesdriggers1995 жыл бұрын

How do you know how much activator to spray? Does the film change or something?
@HotDogBunN2YG4 жыл бұрын
its more just about getting even coverage without spraying to much. over spraying will cause the film to blur and smudge. if youre doing this for the first time, place the film in the water for atleast 60 sec, spray a light even amount of activator, then dip. is does get a glassed out look when the activator is sprayed and the film has been soaked correctly.

Why not just use a fan style nozzle for the activator...?

Using an HVLP or any type of fan style nozzle like that is normally best to spray the activator.
