One never knows and can appreciate what it is to love secretly, to suffer and toil for one who does not even know you. One important lesson is how fast ammunition stocks are depleted, and when things go on much longer than you predicted, you risk running completely out. I hope lots of supplies are getting prepositioned. I also hope the opening missile barrages made an impression. That's what I expect from China into Guam, and possibly into Pearl, San Diego, San Francisco and elsewhere.

The general is a bit off here: 1. There is no such thing as "Ukrainian" air defense. These are Soviet designed and produced air defense systems. How good are they? Ask US during Vietnam - US lost around 10,000 aircraft in 10 years. Ask Israel after 1973 Yom Kippur War. A 1960s old Soviet system even shot down F-117 over Yugoslavia in 1999. 2. Yes, Russian air force is having problems with the Soviet air defense systems Ukraine inherited. However, their flying sorties are more numerous and their patrols last longer than Ukrainian ones. The latter are skirting and attempting quick hit and run tactics.

Ukraine has a lot of western air defense systems also.

@@ryanwalters6184 well, overwhelmingly their arsenal has Buk-M1 and S-300. The Western ones are only recent arrivals to replenish lost equipment and they are not as long range or high altitude as the Buk and S-300. In 2021 according to IISS "Military Balance" Ukraine had more air defense systems than any other Western European state.
