I think the comparison to cars on the road to auto-pilot of planes is silly. Shall we mark this episode for a decade time?

As long as your recommendations are beneficial to the whole Military and not just Air and space power.

Your critique of business and market oriented individuals coming into the defense space and treating it as a business venture rather than a warfighting capability service is probably correct, but it is going to fall on deaf ears. Trump fancies himself the supreme businessman and dealmaker, despite having filed bankruptcy 6 times and squandered his real estate inheritance. Musk and Ramaswamy are high on their own supply, surrounded by sycophants and using their net worth as a guage of their correctness. A better approach to preserving our warfighting capability is an all-hands-on-deck messaging approach that relatively small investments NOW will prevent us from having to make massive investments tomorrow. Don't fight the "pentagon is just a business" idea, because you will be marginalized and ignored. Embrace it, present it in the form of a grand ultimate deal for future-proofing the United States and her allies against the forces of evil in asian and elsewhere, and don't forget to put Trump's name all over everything so he can feel like he was an integral part of the process of modernization. Remember that Trump destroyed the Iranian nuclear deal without anything to replace it, just because it wasn't his deal. This action cost the US much credibility around the world, as who would enter into a new agreement with a nation so fickle? He doesn't care. It must have his name on the package. Mr. President, we have a package which will make us 10x more powerful than Russia, China, and Iran all put together. It will increase American air and space power bigger than anything anybody has ever seen before, blah blah blah. It's also going to SAVE trillions of dollars over the next twenty years. It's really a masterful deal. Some might say a work of art type of deal. Just sign here please, we'll make sure to tell everybody how smart you are.
