Aesop is one of the only rappers I know of who has stayed true to his style throughout his entire career and hasn’t become corny. So many good older rappers try to rap in the contemporary style in an attempt to stay relevant, so Aes still rapping the same way is always refreshing. It’s criminal that he’s not topping charts. Easily one of, if not the singular, most talented lyricists to ever perform hip hop.

I think a lot about that line "Split an arrow with an arrow" "The first trick shot is just to Show them that I dabble". Like to be so gifted at something that you make it seem as natural as breathing, and yet for those who understand, this is God level. Consistently rapping at levels known only to few mortals. The discovery of your music led me to see past the constant bragging and flashy facade of what I thought rap was.

20 years ago when these guys dominated underground hip hop, i kept thinking, this is going to be mainstream soon, how can people not like this?? But instead we got dirty south, lil wayne and eminem. You give people way too much credit. People like stupid music with a good beat. No one can listen to this in a club so it will never be famous. It will be respected I am sure by academics but the everyday person hears this and thinks it is weird. I was watching a reaction to Klutz by some normie and he watched the whole thing and described it as weird yet sounded cool. He said it is not something he would listen to because he can't identify with it. Normies describe this music as weird. We are just different.
